🆘A retiring offering 💰will be held each Sunday during September for the Nepal flood disaster.
Electronic and cash donations can be made.

🆘Nepal flood disaster: support needed

Severe flooding in Nepal has caused widespread devastation, with early reports indicating that more than 150 people have lost their lives and hundreds remain missing.

ALWS has been in contact with its Lutheran partners in Nepal, including The Lutheran World Federation (LWF). A safety assessment has confirmed that staff from Lutheran organisations working in the region are safe and accounted for.

LWF teams are now developing an emergency response plan and assessing the impact on affected communities. Based on previous disaster responses in Nepal, anticipated needs include emergency shelter, food supplies, safe water, sanitation and other essential items.

As a church, we pray for all those affected by this disaster, for those still unaccounted for, and for emergency workers and aid agencies responding to the crisis.

Donations to the ALWS Emergency Fund enable rapid assistance when disasters strike and help Lutheran partners provide support where it's most needed.

Today we had the joy of helping Clack celebrate his 99th birthday! 🎉🎂 What an incredible milestone and a wonderful occasion to celebrate.

We think of Lois and the extended family of Edward (Ted) Dowzard as they mourn his loss. May the Lord give you comfort at this time.

Passed away peacefully in the Renmark Paringa Hospital on Saturday, 15 August 2026.
Aged 86 years.
Dearly loved husband of Lois.
Loving father and father-in-law of Kerry, Teddy (dec) and Maria, Jodie and Brenton,
Steven and Carlie.
Loved Poppa of Jaimie, Ryan, Bradley, Liam, Kyla, Ned, Mikaila, Luke, Carmelo, Dylan, Madison, Tayla, Ethan and Alexis.

The family and friends of Ted are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service to be conducted at the Renmark Lutheran Church, 66 Seventeenth Street Renmark on Wednesday, August 26,2026 at 11.00am.

At the conclusion of the service the cortege will proceed to the Renmark Cemetery.

In Ted’s memory and in lieu of flowers donations to Dementia Australia would be appreciated and donations can be made at the service in envelopes provided.
