For seven days at the Feast of Tabernacles, a priest carried a golden jug of water up the hill and poured it on the altar. On the last day, Jesus stood up in that courtyard and shouted: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink."
The water was never meant to stop at you.
On Simchat Torah, the day the Torah scroll is rolled from the last word of Deuteronomy straight back to "In the beginning", Norman Howlett finishes the water series. What were they really drawing at that feast? What does it mean to drink from Jesus? And how does it flow out of an ordinary person?
In this message:
• "Hosanna" and the name Yeshua: the same Hebrew root
• Rain, teaching and the Holy Spirit: what the water ceremony was really about
• First out of Him, then out of you: "He was speaking about the temple of his body"
• Rabbi Akiva's cistern and well, and why so many of us only repeat what we've heard
• The woman at the well who put her jug down
• The blind man sent to the pool called "Sent": "One thing I do know"
• Nothing between you and the water: baptism, letting go, and having your feet washed every day
• One river, two seas: where is your outlet?
