As believers we must be aware of people who would impose unnecessary rules of asceticism to achieve spiritual power or help that we already have in Jesus. Be careful of people in your lives who try to uproot you from the substance of Christ to chase the shadows of a false spirituality.

“Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!” - Colossians 2:20-21

Paul reminds us in Colossians that spiritual maturity means keeping Him at the centre - suffering for the church, serving the church & fighting for the church.

“I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments. For I am far away from you, my heart is with you, and I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong” - Colossians 2:4-5
