South Africa has been ranked the friendliest country in the world in a new global study by Remitly.

The study surveyed more than 3,000 people across 27 countries and measured traits such as kindness, empathy, cooperation, and willingness to help others.

South Africa finished ahead of countries including Greece, Croatia, Mexico, Sweden, Canada, and Japan, recording the highest score for friendliness and agreeableness.

The ranking highlights a side of South Africa that many visitors already know — a country known for its warm, welcoming people and strong sense of community.

🚨 Home Affairs Bars 586 Nigerians from Re-Entering South Africa

The Department of Home Affairs has confirmed that 586 Nigerian nationals found to be residing in South Africa illegally have been declared undesirable persons.

According to the department, those affected will be prohibited from re-entering South Africa for a period of five years in line with immigration laws.

The announcement forms part of ongoing efforts to enforce immigration regulations and address unlawful residence in the country.
