Before the world beheld the Light, God prepared the one who would carry Him 🤍

Today we celebrate the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a birth that quietly announced the dawn of salvation.

“She is the flower of the field from whom bloomed the precious lily of the valley.” — St Augustine

Today, we rejoice in the birth of the woman who carried Christ beneath her heart, raised Him in her arms, stood faithfully beneath His Cross, and became a mother to us all.

May your humility teach us to surrender, your faith teach us to trust, and your fiat teach us to always say yes to God.

Most Holy Mother of God, pray for us.

The Gospels record no words spoken by St Joseph. And yet, his life speaks profoundly about what it means to be a father.

He loved without seeking recognition. He protected without hesitation. He worked, sacrificed and remained faithful when the path before him was uncertain. Entrusted with Mary and the Child Jesus, Joseph made his life an offering to those placed in his care.

Pope Francis reminds us that “fathers are not born, but made.” Fatherhood is found in the daily decision to take responsibility for another, to guide, protect, provide, forgive, sacrifice and, above all, lead those entrusted to you closer to God.

St Joseph shows us that the strength of a father is not always loud. Sometimes, it is found in the unseen sacrifices, the prayers no one hears, the burdens quietly carried, and the faithful presence that asks for nothing in return.

This Father’s Day, we honour the fathers, grandfathers, godfathers and spiritual fathers who reflect something of St Joseph’s heart: men whose love becomes service, whose strength becomes protection, and whose lives quietly point others toward Christ.

May St Joseph, Guardian of the Redeemer and father of the Holy Family, intercede for every father. May he teach them to love as he loved, to trust as he trusted, and to lead with the quiet courage of a heart surrendered to God.

St Joseph, model of fathers, pray for us. 🤎

“O Eternity…” | A Retreat on the Life of the World to Come

Earthly things satisfy for a moment, but eternity is forever…

We live in a world consumed by the immediate: what’s next, what’s popular, what’s right in front of us. Yet, deep down, we know we were created for more than just the temporary. There is a death we must die, a judgement we must face, and an eternal reward that awaits each one of us.

Join SCYA for our annual youth retreat! It will be a time to pause the noise and reflect on the glorious reality of eternal life with God and our personal preparation for this great meeting.
