Thank you, Fuli, for the glorious message this morning.
Our readings this week were Exodus 32:1-14; Psalm 106: 1-6; Philippians 4:1-9 and Mattthew 22:1-14
Fuli offered us five lessons for our lives.
PRAYER:
Faithful and merciful God, help us to remember Your goodness when waiting is difficult. Forgive us when other things take Your place in our lives. Teach us to respond wholeheartedly to Your grace, to bring our worries to You, and to seek peace with one another. Give us compassion to pray for others and generous hearts to welcome them. May our words and actions reflect the love of Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
1. Keep God at the centre, especially when waiting is difficult. When waiting becomes difficult, remember the prayers that God has answered, the strength He has provided and the people through whom He has shown us love.
2. God's mercy invites a sincere response. Are we allowing God's mercy to shape us? Does our faith influence how we speak, how we treat people and how we respond when we are wrong? God's invitation is generous. Our response should be wholehearted.
3. Practise faith through prayer, gratitude and peaceful relationships. This week, perhaps each of us could bring one particular worry to God and take one practical step towards peace with another person.
4. Stand in the gap for others through prayer. Moses stood in the gap through prayer. We, too, can bring others before God - someone whose faith is struggling, a case of hardship, a discouraged friend, a damaging choice... Who might God be calling us to stand in the gap for today?
5. Make room for others in God's family. Making room can begin with something simple: learning a name, sharing a conversation, offering a seat, or listening. Perhaps it is praying, repairing a broken relationship or seeking forgiveness.
