Preston Mosque Preston Mosque is located in Preston, Melbourne - a suburb of Victoria Australia. The formal name of the mosque is "Umar bin Al-Khattab Mosque".

The Islamic Society of Victoria (ISV) is a community organisation with the vision of providing Islamic services to the Muslims of Victoria and to provide the wider Australian community a better understanding of Islam. Through these services, the ISV plays an important role in enhancing the interfaith and social cohesive landscape of Victoria. The ISV is well known in establishing one of the first

large scale Mosque in 1975, led by the late Sheikh Fehmi Naji El-Imam, who was appointed as Grand Mufti of Australia from 2007 to 2011.

Alḥamdulillāh, we welcome the beginning of the new Islamic year and the blessed month of Muḥarram.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“The most virtuous fasting after the month of Ramadan is Allah’s month, Al-Muḥarram.” (Tirmidhī)

As we enter this new year, let us renew our intentions, increase in worship, seek Allah’s forgiveness, and strive to draw closer to Him through sincere acts of obedience and devotion.

May Allah ﷻ make 1448 AH a year filled with faith, guidance, barakah, good health, and success for us, our families, and the entire Ummah. May He accept our deeds, forgive our shortcomings, and grant us steadfastness upon His religion.
