Let us pray that sports be an instrument of peace, encounter, and dialogue among cultures and nations, and that they promote values such as respect, solidarity, and personal growth.

This June, the Servant of the Servants of God, Pope Leo XIV, has asked us to pray for the value of sports, as an instrument of peace among many cultures and nations. St. Faustina's diaries show that praying for the Holy Father's intentions can unlock graces for the entire world (Faustina's Diary 341).

1 Timothy 2:12 urges us to pray for "all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

For these reasons, the Church has granted as a required condition for gaining plenary indulgences to pray with the Pope, to foster the spiritual unity of the faithful and to align our own prayer life with the broader needs of the Body of Christ.

This June, pray for the Pope's intentions because, through honouring the Pope, we honour Christ in his One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

This EOFY, your generosity can do double duty. 🕊️
St Canice's Church is a National Trust-listed heritage treasure in urgent need of restoration, from our leaking roof to the Stations of the Cross, pews, and kneelers that have served this community for generations. Donations over $2 are tax-deductible, so your gift carries both spiritual and financial value.

Help us preserve something sacred. 🙏

Malcolm & Barbara in Railaco, Timor-Leste 🇹🇱

Our visit to Railaco last week further deepened our bonds with St Canice’s partner parish in Timor Leste. Arriving in time to be welcomed to share in a birthday dinner for the local Jesuit Superior, Fr B**g, we travelled over the following couple of days by 4WD to visit the mobile medical clinic and nutrition program and finished our stay with a visit to NOSSEF school. We were met with warmth and smiles throughout. We are deeply thankful for the gifts the Railaco community offers and for each step we share and celebrate together. We look forward to returning for our Parish Immersion to Timor Leste and Railaco (29/08/2026 to 04/09/2026); you are welcome to join us.
