For almost 145 years this Bronze Cross has stood either on the top of the Church Spire or more recently it was set into a purpose built wall overlooking Portland Harbour, as a sign of welcome home to travelling Sailors. At some point in the last few weeks someone has stolen it, probably for the scrap metal value of the Bronze. This is despicable act of vandalism. If you have seen this Bronze Cross or know who has taken it please contact Portland Police. Some things are worth more than their monetary value.🥲
