The St Thomas playgroup starts up for the year this coming Monday, 2nd February. If you're looking for a relaxed and welcoming playgroup for you and your little ones, we would love to welcome you! There will be free play, songs, stories and craft each week.

Tomorrow morning is our last playgroup of the term! To celebrate we will be singing Christmas carols, reading the Christmas story and painting Christmas-themed plaster of paris magnets for your fridge. If you are looking for something to do tomorrow with your little ones, or haven't managed to get to playgroup for a while - we would love to see you!

As Christmas draws one week closer, so does the end of Playgroup for 2025 at St Thomas Anglican Church. This week, we’ll be reading Wombat Stew! To go along with the story, we’ll have a special outdoor play station with pots, leaves, twigs, and water so the children can mix up their very own bush stew.

There will also be plenty of other play equipment available, along with our usual music time, playdoh, and morning tea. We’re looking forward to another lovely morning together!

Playgroup is on again tomorrow St Thomas Anglican Church ! We would love to see you there. We meet at the St Thomas hall, at 50 Hay Street. Follow the road until the end of the driveway and you will see our big playgroup flag. No need to book, more the merrier!

Playgroup is on tomorrow! We will be singing, reading a story, doing watercolour painting, play-doh, playing and enjoying morning tea together. If you are new to Playgroup don't worry, there is no need to book, you can just come along! We would love to meet you.

At St Thomas Playgroup, we have a gentle routine that gives everyone time to settle in before we come together to sing nursery rhymes with actions and instruments, read a story, make some craft, and enjoy morning tea together. There’s always plenty of time for free play, indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather.

Research shows that music plays a vital role in children’s development. Using instruments helps little ones build a sense of rhythm, while the actions in our songs support balance, coordination, and gross motor skills. Craft activities encourage creativity and help develop fine motor skills as children cut, glue, paint, and explore different materials. Storytime encourages listening, language, and imagination.

In these early years, children learn best through play. Our aim is to create a safe, nurturing, and joy-filled space where children can explore, grow, and connect as they feel ready and able, whilst providing a place where parents and carers can meet, make new friends, and build community connections too.

This Monday at playgroup, we will be reading Waddle Giggle Gargle by Pamela Allen and making our very own swooping magpies! We will also be singing songs and enjoying morning tea together. The weather has been beautiful this term, and the children have been enjoying our outdoor space, splashy water play and riding the little bikes and cars.

If you are looking for a friendly, welcoming playgroup for you and your little ones, we would love to meet you! No need to book, we are open to everyone.

Due to a funeral of a beloved parish member of St Thomas on Monday 20th October, this week we will be meeting at Westport Park. Bring a towel, hat, sunscreen, swimmers for water play and your own morning tea!

St Thomas Playgroup is back tomorrow! If you have a little one, or know someone who does, we would love to meet them. We will be singing, reading, making a scruffy dog craft, and enjoying morning tea together of fruit and crackers. The weather should be fine, ready for a morning of outdoor play to boot!

No need to book, just pop along to the St Thomas hall at 50 Hay St and look out for our playgroup flag at the bottom of the driveway.
