THE SALVATION ARMY PORT LINCOLN ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY MEAL SERVICE

The Salvation Army Port Lincoln is pleased to announce that final approval has now been received to operate our Emergency Mobile Catering Unit at the Old Port Lincoln Railway Station.

After 18 months of planning, consultation, and approvals, we are delighted to be able to provide hot meals, practical support, and a welcoming presence for those in our community who may be experiencing hardship or disadvantage.

The service will initially operate on the second Friday of each month, commencing on 10 July 2026.

This initiative reflects The Salvation Army’s ongoing commitment to caring for people in need and providing support, hope, and connection within our local community.

We look forward to serving those who may benefit from this service and working alongside community partners to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

First Responders Day – 10 June 2026

On First Responders Day, we had the privilege of visiting the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service, SA Ambulance Service, and SAPOL stations in Port Lincoln to deliver some snacks and express our appreciation for the incredible work they do in our community.

During our visits, we also shared information about The Salvation Army Emergency Services (SAES) mobile catering unit based in Port Lincoln and its important role in supporting communities during disaster response and recovery operations.

We spoke about our local winter outreach initiative, which provides hot meals, warm drinks, and friendly support to people experiencing homelessness, hardship, or social isolation within our community.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, courage, and commitment of our first responders, who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe and supported during times of emergency and crisis.

Today was a small opportunity to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for their ongoing service to the people of Port Lincoln and the Lower Eyre Peninsula.

Thank you to all our first responders for the vital work you do every day.
