The Way To Follow Christ || 2nd Sunday of Matthew || Sermon

The Gospel According to Matthew 4:18-23

At that time, as Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left their boat and their father, and followed him. And he went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people.

The Narrow Path To Holiness || Sunday of All Saints || Sermon

NOTE: Due to technical difficulties, this sermon from Sunday 7th of June, is now available.

The Gospel According to Matthew 10:32-33; 37-38; 19:27-30

The Lord said to his disciples, "Every one who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven; but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny him before my Father who is in heaven. He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me." Then Peter said in reply, "Lo, we have left everything and followed you. What then shall we have?" Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of man shall sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many that are first will be last, and the last first."

Today, our seniors' group enjoyed a wonderful day out at Esilio Wines, the first outing of its kind in quite some time. Members spent the day sharing great conversation, enjoying delicious platters, and sampling some of the region's fine wines in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere tailored to us by our gracious and generous hosts.

Events like these provide a valuable opportunity for our seniors to connect, socialise, and create lasting memories together.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated volunteers whose planning, support, and care made today's outing possible. Your generosity and commitment to our community are deeply appreciated

As we prepare for the final Saturday of Souls for 2026, we warmly invite all faithful to gather with us in prayer and remembrance for our beloved departed.

The Saturday of Souls is a sacred day in the Orthodox Church dedicated to praying for those who have fallen asleep in the Lord. Through the Divine Liturgy and Memorial Service, we ask God to grant rest, forgiveness, and eternal memory to our departed relatives and loved ones.

We kindly ask all parishioners to bring a list of names of their departed family members and friends to be commemorated during the service.

Please ensure that: Only the baptised Christian names of Orthodox faithful are included, first names only are written, surnames or last names are not included.

May God grant rest to all the departed servants of God, and may their memory be eternal.

Truth & Lies || Sunday Of The Fathers Of The First Council || Sermon

The Gospel According to John 17:1-13

At that time, Jesus lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him power over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work which you gave me to do; and now, Father, you glorify me in your own presence with the glory which I had with you before the world was made.

"I have manifested your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world; yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you; for I have given them the words which you gave me, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you did send me. I am praying for them; I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are mine; all mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me; I have guarded them, and none of them is lost but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to you; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves."
