We give thanks to God for a joyful milestone in the life of the Diocese of the Southern Cross, as the Rt Revd Dr Glenn Davies, Interim Bishop, and Gafcon Guarantor and Primates’ Council Advisor, presided over the first ordination of a deacon in the diocese.

Congratulations to the Revd Mekyal Keira, ordained as a Deacon in the Church of God and appointed Pastor of Kush Southern Cross Anglican Church in Western Australia, the eighth congregation in this growing diocese, launched this weekend.

We also rejoice that Alezabeth Kurundi was authorised as a Lay Minister in this new church. Praise God for His faithfulness in raising up new leaders to guard His gospel and serve His people across Australia.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” (Philippians 4:4). A wonderful occasion for KSCAC as we celebrated the ordination of two of our very own. Mekyal was ordained as deacon and Alizabeth was commissioned for lay ministry at the hand of The Right Reverend Dr Glenn Davies. Kush Southern Cross Anglican Church was also admitted as a member church of the Diocese of The Southern Cross. Almighty and everlasting God, we thank You for calling and ordaining Your servants to the ministry of Christ. Prepare our hearts as we gather in gratitude, renew our commitment to Your service, and strengthen us by Your Holy Spirit to follow faithfully in the way of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

مناسبة عظيمة لكنيسة كوش ساوثرن كروس الأسقفية إذ احتفلنا بسيامة اثنين من أبنائنا. فقد سيم ميكيال شماسًا، وتسلّمت إليزابيث تكليفها للخدمة العلمانيّة على يد صاحب السيادة الأسقف الدكتور غْلِن ديفِز. كما قُبِلَت كنيسة كوش ساوثرن كروس كعضوٍ في أبرشيّة الصليب الجنوبي.

اللهم القدير السرمدي،
نشكرُكَ لأنك دعوتَ وكرّستَ خادميكَ لخدمة المسيح.
هيِّئ قلوبَنا ونحن نجتمع بالشكر،
وجدِّد التزامَنا بخدمتِكَ،

A moment of great joy and calling.

A Collect to Pray in Preparation:

Almighty God, our Heavenly Father
by your Holy Spirit you equip your Church with a rich variety of gifts: grant that those who are called to the ordained ministry
may be filled with your truth and clothe themselves with holiness,
that by word and deed they may faithfully serve you
and bring glory to your Holy name;
through Jesus Christ, your son, our Lord.

Prayers for Bishop Glenn

صلوات من أجل موتران جلين

We pray for The Diocese of the Southern Cross, established in 2022 by Gafcon, which operates as an extra-provincial jurisdiction, hosting multiple congregations across Queensland and Western Australia.

Led by The Rt. Rev’d Dr. Glenn Davies, the former Archbishop of Sydney until 2021, the diocese began with one congregation and has now expanded to eleven. Davies was officially commissioned at the 2022 Gafcon Australasia Conference and continues to provide spiritual leadership and episcopal oversight.

The diocese emphasises church planting, biblical fidelity, and disciple-making, and provides a a home for those who feel unable to remain under more liberal ecclesiastical jurisdictions.

1st June 2025 On the Feast of the Ascension, we rejoiced in the glory of our risen and ascended Lord, who has taken his place at the right hand of the Father and now ever lives to intercede for us.

We were delighted to welcome The Reverend Dave Burgis, who preached a thoughtful and stirring homily on the mission of Paul and Silas. Drawing from their witness, he reminded us that the ascended Christ continues his saving work through the Church—calling, equipping, and sending his people into the world in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Their story is a testament to the truth that Christ’s ascension is not the end of the gospel story, but its expansion. As the Body of Christ on earth, we are invited to share in his mission—proclaiming the kingdom, bearing the cross, and rejoicing in the hope of his coming again.

Alleluia! Christ is ascended. The Lord is King. Let the earth rejoice.

٠١/٠٦/٢٠٢٥ في عيد الصعود هذا، ابتهجنا بمجد ربنا القائم والصاعد، الذي جلس عن يمين الآب، وهو حيٌّ إلى الأبد ليشفع لنا

لقد سعدنا بالترحيب بالقس ديفيد بورجيس، الذي ألقى عظة عميقة وقوية حول مهمة بولس وسيلا. ومن خلال شهادتهم، ذكّرنا بأن المسيح الصاعد يواصل عمله الخلاصي من خلال الكنيسة - يدعو شعبه، ويجهزهم، ويرسلهم إلى العالم بقوة الروح القدس.

إن قصتهم هي شهادة على حقيقة أن صعود المسيح ليس نهاية قصة الإنجيل، بل هو توسعها. وباعتبارنا جسد المسيح على الأرض، فإننا مدعوون للمشاركة في رسالته - إعلان الملكوت، وحمل الصليب، والابتهاج على أمل مجيئه مرة أخرى.
هللويا! المسيح صعد. الرب هو الملك. لتفرح الأرض

May 25th 2025 Sixth Sunday after Easter at Kush Southern Cross Anglican Church with our beloved faithful.

We continue to rejoice in the death & resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, to him be all the glory! We heard from Br. Lawrence on the “Autonomy of God” and his perfect plan from Genesis through to Revelation.

The Gospel according to St. John: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

نواصل فرحنا بموت وقيامة ربنا يسوع المسيح، له كل المجد! استمعنا إلى الأخ لورانس عن "استقلالية الله" وخطته الكاملة من سفر التكوين إلى سفر الرؤيا. وشجعنا على تقبّل حياتنا الاستثنائية في المسيح.

We were blessed to hear from The Rev’d Fr. Peter Smith on the day where we celebrated the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. A message of victory and hope for all.

Blessed Palm Sunday at Kush Southern Cross
Anglican Church!

Today we remember Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem—greeted with palm branches and praises of 'Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord', 'Hosanna in the highest heaven!'. It marks the beginning of Holy Week, a time to reflect on Christ's suffering, death & resurrection.

May we carry His peace in our hearts, show kindness to others and prepare our souls for the joy of Easter. Let's celebrate not just with palms in our hands, but with faith in our hearts.

أحد الشعانين المبارك في كنيسة كوش الأسقفية في غرب أستراليا!

نُحيي اليوم ذكرى دخول يسوع المظفّر إلى أورشليم، حيث استُقبل بأغصان النخيل وترنيمات "هوشعنا لابن داود! مبارك الآتي باسم الرب"، "هوشعنا في الأعالي!". يُمثّل هذا بداية أسبوع الآلام، وهو وقتٌ للتأمل في معاناة المسيح وموته وقيامته.

فلنحمل سلامه في قلوبنا، ونُظهر اللطف للآخرين، ونُهيئ نفوسنا لفرح عيد الفصح. فلنحتفل ليس فقط بأغصان النخيل في أيدينا، بل بالإيمان في قلوبنا.
