SOLEMNITY OF BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION & PRAYER FOR PEACE

In support of Catholic Communities in Perth whose countries of origin are impacted by violent conflict, there will be an extra Mass on Sunday 22 June 2pm, St Maryโ€™s Cathedral, Perth, the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, concluding with a Prayer for Peace.

Everyone who wishes to pray for peace in the world is invited to join Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton who will celebrate this Eucharist with priests and communities whose homelands remain in a state of conflict.

During the Mass, prayers for peace will be offered in Arabic (for Sudan and South Sudan), Burmese (for Myanmar), Lebanese and Syriac (for Syria) and Ukrainian (for Ukraine).

There will also be a Prayer for Peace at the end of the Mass.
Please join us at this special event.

Our Story

We are an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth that seeks to promote the acceptance and settlement of migrants and refugees into Australia.

We aspire to support migrants and refugees in a manner that upholds their dignity to enable them to feel a sense of welcome and belonging in the parish and broader community.

What does Pope Francis say about Migrants & Refugees?

โ€˜Migrants and refugees are not pawns on the chessboard of humanity. They are children, women and men who leave or who are forced to leave their homes for various reasons. They share a legitimate desire for knowing and having, but above all, for being more.โ€™ โ€“ Pope Francis, Migrants and Refugees: Towards a Better World, 2014
