Last weekend, our parish family came together in joyful thanksgiving to mark the 40th Jubilee Year of St Simon Peter Parish in Ocean Reef, Perth — and what a magnificent celebration it was!
The Thanksgiving Mass was led by Bishop Don Sproxton, joined by former Parish Priests who have served our community over the decades, as well as many parishioners who braved the weather to be part of this special occasion.
We were also delighted to welcome some wonderful guests, including the Principals of St Simon Peter Primary School, Francis Jordan Primary School, and Prendiville Catholic College, as well as the Mayor of the city of Joondalup — a wonderful reminder of the strong bonds our parish shares with the broader community.
Following Mass, we celebrated together with the cutting of the jubilee cake, light refreshments in the Parish Hall, and a festive lunch at St Simon Peter Primary School Hall — filled with great food, warm company, and plenty of cherished memories shared between old friends and new faces alike.
To mark this milestone, Bishop Don Sproxton on behalf of Archbishop Timothy Costelloe was presented with a beautiful glass cross featuring the 40th Jubilee logo — a lasting symbol of four decades of faith, community, and service. As we reflect on 40 years of parish life and ministry, we look forward with joy and hope to all that is yet to come. 🌟
Ad multos annos — to many more years! 🎊
