St Vincent de Paul would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to our Winter Appeal. Your kindness will make a meaningful difference to the people and families in our community who are doing it tough this winter.

The Little Sister of the Poor at the Glendalough Aged Care Home also wish to express their gratitude and thanks to all the parishioners for their kind assistance and contribution towards their mission to the elderly poor. Please be assured that our residents and the community are grateful and pray for abundant blessings for your parish.

As of Wednesday 26th of August, Flavia, our Parish Administration and Finance Officer, will be on leave. We wish Flavia a safe, enjoyable and refreshing break. May God watch over her throughout her travels and we look forward to welcoming her back refreshed and renewed.

While Flavia is away, we warmly welcome Caryn Tobin who will be joining us as our relief Parish Administration Officer. We are grateful for her support during this time and look forward to having Caryn join us from the 1st of September.

Salvatorian Jubilee Celebrations

The Salvatorian Fathers warmly invite you to join us in celebrating three special jubilees:

* 145th Anniversary of the Salvatorian Order
* 65th Anniversary of Salvatorian Ministry in Australia
* 25th Anniversary of Salvatorian Ministry at Ocean Reef Parish

The celebrations will take place on Tuesday, 8 September at Simon Peter church in Ocean Reef Parish, beginning with a Solemn Mass at 6:30 pm, celebrated by Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB, followed by a light supper.

You are all invited to take part in a birthday Rosary Bouquet, praying the rosary anywhere, any time during 48 hours as gift to our Lady on Her birthday. All the names from the roster will be placed on the rosary scroll which will be presented during mass at St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth on Tuesday the 8th of September at 12:10pm. All our welcome. RITE OF ELECTION — A special step in our children’s journey towards First Holy Communion.

During mass, the candidates are presented to our parish community, who are invited to take a prayer card and pray for them as they prepare to received Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.

As your child prepares for one of the most special days of their faith journey — receiving Jesus for the first time in the Eucharist — we invite families to join us for an important information session. Parent and child are asked to attend one of the following First Holy Communion workshops together.

This is a lovely chance to walk this next step together as a family and start preparing your hearts for the big day ahead. Please choose whichever time suits you best — no need to attend more than one session.
