Cathedral Square Walk - Saturday 19 September 2026 🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏽

The Friends of St. George's Cathedral warmly invite you to join us for a free guided Cathedral Square Walk led by renowned Perth historian and Cathedral member Richard Offen.

Richard will share his wealth of knowledge and fascinating insights into some of the significant buildings and places of interest surrounding St George's Cathedral and St. Mary’s Cathedral.

The walk will take place in two stages:

Stage 1
• Meet at St George's Cathedral at 9.00 am for prayer and a 9.15 am departure
• A leisurely guided walk of approximately 1.3 km, exploring places of historical interest in and around the Cathedral precinct.
Refreshment Break (Holy Grounds)
• At approximately 10.00 am, we will return to Holy Grounds Café at the Cathedral for refreshments and fellowship (refreshments available for purchase).

Stage 2
• Those wishing to continue walking are invited to join the second stage of the walk. This is a distance of approximately 2.6 km, taking in further historic sites, including the precinct around St Mary's Cathedral, before returning at approximately 12:15pm.

The walk will be conducted at a comfortable pace with opportunities to stop and enjoy Richard's commentary.

SOUL FOOD – Expression of Interest

Do you enjoy good conversation over a shared meal? 🍽️
Is there a question, idea, or issue that you've always wanted to explore with others?

We are considering starting a small discussion group within our Cathedral community and would like to gauge interest. The idea is that a group of people would meet in one another's homes on a bring-and-share basis every month or so, enjoying good food and thoughtful conversation together.

Discussions would be prompted and lightly guided, but would largely be shaped by the interests and questions of the group. Topics might include Biblical texts, contemporary ethical issues, theology, or other matters of faith and life.

At this stage, we are simply seeking expressions of interest. If there is sufficient interest, further details will be developed in consultation with those who would like to be involved.

To register your interest or find out more, please contact Father Bill at [email protected].
