Spring has sprung and our Star Street Seniors celebrated this at their monthly morning tea.

On Tuesday 6th October, the Star Street Seniors met for a delicious morning tea and fellowship and each attendee was gifted a seedling to celebrate new growth that comes with spring.

If you are a senior, you are welcome to join the group, they meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 10am in the hall.

On Sunday 4 October we were joined by Jen Park and Michael Chester, the Co-Chief Executive Officers of Uniting WA to speak about the incredible impact their organisation has in our local community.

Jen and Michael spoke about several case studies where children in care, and those living with homelessness were helped by the fantastic work of Uniting WA.

They encouraged us to learn more about what is happening in their services, share the good news of what they are doing, pray for their work and if possible get involved through donations and volunteering.

Sunday 20th September saw us celebrating our annual Blessing of the Animals.
We gave thanks to God for the amazing animals in our lives and the wider world, and prayed a blessing over those animals we live in our families.

A highlight was Mr Nibbles (the blue budgie) singing along with all the worship songs. Talk about making a joyful noise to the Lord!

We were also joined by Bailey, Nugget and Ned, who were all very good dogs and blessed everyone with their willingness to accept pats.

Don’t miss out on one of our most joyful worship services of the year.
This Sunday (20 September) at 9.30am our doors will be open for all good dogs, lovely cats and other well behaved animals and of course all humans as we celebrate the animals that God has blessed us with in his creation.

You are invited to join us for the Blessing of the Animals on Sunday 20 September 2026 at Star Street Uniting Church starting at 9.30am.

Fun, family friendly activities to celebrate animals – come along and join in, even if you don’t have a pet to bring along.

Bring your (well-behaved) pet to church – either on a leash or comfortably enclosed – or bring a photo of your pet or favourite animal.

On the 16th August we had a joyful celebration with the Presbytery of WA in commissioning Lay Preacher Fiona Bentley at Star Street Uniting Church.
During our worship service we acknowledged the work that Fiona has done in her studies, and stood with her to respond to the call to preach the Gospel.

The theme of the day was ‘Praising God in all we do’. We heard a reflection on the topic and also had activities to help us engage in our thinking about praising God.

Some of the congregation also contributed to the visual letters that now sit proudly at the front of the church, reminding us to always Praise God!

Congratulations Fiona, may God bless you in your service to Gods church as a Lay Preacher.

The covenant between the Uniting Church in Australia and the UAICC is an important step towards in our relationship between these two parts of Christ’s church.
May we continue to work together for reconciliation and justice for the First Peoples of Australia.

Did you know your containers for change items can help Star Street Uniting help feed those who are hungry?
All proceeds from our Containers For Change collection goes towards food given to those in need in our local community.

From 1 July, there are more containers than ever that can be collected and contribute to feeding those in need.
Please bring your containers to us on Sunday and we will do the rest!

Get excited! You can now return most beverage containers between 150ml and 3L at refund points across Western Australia 🎉🎉

This includes:

✅ All fruit and vegetable juice, flavoured milk, and cordial containers.

✅ W**e in any container type.

✅ Spirits.

✅ W**e and water in casks.
