Peling Dzongchen Lingka, a little about the name

It was around early spring, days since receiving a royal command to build a spiritual heritage, such that it resonated with the spirit and tenor of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) as envisioned by His Majesty the King himself for the greater cause and good of, not just the nation and its people, but as a contribution to humanity, transcending borders, embracing the global community.

Entrusted with helping realise a figment of a grand royal vision, His Eminence Jigdrel Kunzang Pema Dorji, or fondly Sungtrul Rimpoche, lent considerable thought to a project worthy of such a lofty aspiration.

Peling Dzogchen Lingka was what transpired. It was going to be neither a temple, monastery, nor a stupa, forms of spiritual architecture in abundance across the country, but rather a spiritual initiative that blended with the very fabric of what GMC was envisioned to become.

According to Rimpoche, a Lingka (sanctuary), an open space of sort, for meditation, reflection, contemplation and rejuvenation would spread its benefit to people of all nationalities and all religious traditions. Above all, it would be a place where learning could flourish.

Firmly grounded in the profound rationale, Rimpoche named the project Peling Dzogchen Lingka.

ཨོ༵་རྒྱ༵ན་རྒྱལ་ཚབ་པད་གླིང་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་སྲས། །
The heart son(Thuksey) of Pema Lingpa, the regent of Padmasambhava;

མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་འཇི༵གས་བྲ༵ལ་མཚན་དཔེའི་ཉི་གཞོན་གང་། །
Who has fearlessly reincarnated with the splendor of great marks and signs,

གསང་གསུམ་རྟག་བརྟན་མཐུ༵་སྟོ༵བས་གཟི་འབར་ཞིང་། །
With glowing steady, everlasting power and strength of the three secrets(The three indestructible realities Buddha-body, speech and mind).

ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣ༵མ་རྒྱ༵ལ་ས་གསུམ་ཁྱབ་གྱུར་ཅིག །
May you entail and be victorious in all directions of the three realms.

ཅེས་དབང་ཆེན་དངོས་བྱོན་སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྲས་མཆོག་ཟླ་བ་རྒྱལ་མཚན་སྐུ་ཕྲེང་བཅུ་གཅིག་པའི་མཚན་གྱི་རྔ་གསང་ཐོག་མར་ལྡིར་བའི་ཚེ་ན་བཟའ་མཚན་གསོལ་དང་འབྲེལ་རྟེན་འབྱུང་ཤིས་པའི་སྨོན་ཚིག་ཏུ་པད་གླིང་སྐྱེ་ཕྲེང་ ༡༡ པས་སྨོན་པ་དགེ།

Thus! On hearing the roar and loud sound of the drums, the name at first of the 11th successive embodiment of the Supreme Son Dawa Gyaltshen, who is an Emanation of Hayagriva and together with the naming and offering robes, for the dependent arising and auspiciousness, I the 11th Peling(Pema Lingpa's line of reincarnations) offer it and may all be virtuous.

Finally there is the culmination, Atiyoga, which is synonymous with Dzokchen or Mahasandhi(Skt)- The Great Perfection.

It is here that you come to the pinnacle and to the simplest of all spiritual vehicles which you can most essentially and profoundly take refuge and trust, your own Buddha nature and pristine awareness.

Hence the Dzokchen aphorism, “Do not look outside yourself for the Buddha.”

We are pleased to announce the upcoming spiritual visit of HH Gangteng Truelku Rinpoche to Australia (1 April - 26 May 2026).

Responding to the sincere and repeated requests of devotees and practitioners across the country, His Holiness has graciously agreed to make a spiritual tour covering Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Canberra.

During the visit, His Holiness will lead a 14-day Dzogchen Retreat in Perth, followed by sacred public empowerments and other spiritual programs in different states, offering a rare opportunity for devotees and the wider community to receive teachings and blessings.

In addition, upon the heartfelt requests of devotees, His Holiness has kindly consented to make home visits between the major events, where possible.
