The remnant of Israel shall do no unrighteousness And speak no lies, Nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth; For they shall feed their flocks and lie down, And no one shall make them afraid.”
Zephaniah 3:13 NKJV

The preservation of the faith comes from those who choose to believe in God Almighty and walk in His ways. In the midst of corruption, envy and full of deceit some have remained faithful to the Lord.

Their assurance and faith in God has kept them from involving in unrighteous deeds. In a society that is full of demonic system that calls evil good and good as evil yet it did not change their stand.

Because these remnant have fixed their eyes, minds and hearts on the Lord. They have kept themselves in alignment to the plans and purposes of God so that the Messiah can be born into the world.

They did not have the same conversation like the people who do not believe in God. They spoke the language of faith, of promise and their thoughts are to please God.

The scriptures says that they will feed their flocks and lie down. They did not lack anything and they can have peace and rest in their hearts.

They feared no one because their trust is in God who have spoken. All the threats did not move them at all but they had their confidence in God.

Today as believers in Christ who have been blessed with every spiritual blessing and empowered with authority and power ought to live a significant life in this world.

Our lives should manifest the love, grace and power of God in the midst of all kinds of philosophies and beliefs that are in the world.

We are the remnant for God today to preach the true gospel of Christ, His kingdom and display His love to the world.

Let us put our complete trust in the Lord, live life without fear and walk in faith of Christ our Lord.

Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
II Timothy 1:13 NKJV

Paul taught his spiritual son to remain loyal to the teachings he received about the finished work of Christ.

He gave an example through his own life of how he had to face persecutions, go through hardship, beaten, shamed and accused for teaching and preaching the truth.

Paul's encouragement to Timothy is to hold fast to the pattern. In Greek, the pattern means an outline, a model for imitating, or to produce an exact copy.

That pattern is Christ, who laid for all believers a foundation to live from. Conforming our minds, hearts, and strength to a new person that we have become in Christ.

Paul encouraged Timothy to hold fast, knowing that it is an important part of living the new life he has received in Christ.

Are we holding fast to what Christ has laid for us?
Are we following the pattern that reflects Christlikeness?

To walk as a successful new creation, we need to know the pattern Christ has laid for us. If we don't know what was laid, how are we to follow?

We need to be diligent to know God, diligent to search the Scriptures so that we can see the plans and purposes of God for our lives.

Let us hold fast to the foundation Jesus has laid and build our lives by following the pattern that shines His love.

And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return.
Hebrews 11:15 NKJV

Here the writer of Hebrews spoke about people of faith who did not see the manifestation in the natural but their faith never wavered. They believed till the end of their lives.

These great men and women of God who did not wavered in their faith, they confessed their citizenship is of heaven, their longing is to dwell with God for eternity.

These faith giants who is mentioned were people just like us. For the writer says if they would have given thoughts to their past, their earthly life, they would have returned to an ordinary life.

Opportunity opens up when we give thought to it, formations of plans starts to be established as we ponder upon it.

Therefore whatever we give thought to is eventually going to shape our lives. It's going to create a passion, desire and a spark of interest.

This is the reason the word of God teaches us to set our minds on the things above. So that we give opportunity for the plans and purposes of God to be established in our lives.

The people of faith were calling to their mind the promises of God that was set for them for eternity before time began.

What are we calling to our mind everyday? What thoughts are forming in our mind? How does our meditation look like?

Important questions that will help is check what we have allowed into our lives and what we should do to redirect our thoughts to fulfill God's plan and purpose.

Let us keep our minds on the things Christ our Lord have set for us. Calling to our minds as the righteousness of God and let Jesus shine through our lives.

for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
James 1:20 NKJV

James taught believers to live in the fruit of the Spirit: quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. Then he affirms that the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

When we function under the influence of anger, pride, being self-centred, and judgment, we do not produce the love of God, and it does not reflect God's nature.

As His children, we need to cultivate God's nature that is in us, harnessing our minds to give ear, to understand the whole picture.

We are to give a chance for the person to express themselves and then speak with the wisdom of God into the situation.

We are to produce the righteousness of God that is within us; we take time to hear in the light of God's nature; we speak the purposes of God for the situation to liberate them in the truth.

The anger is important to be directed to the right place. Not against the person but towards the evil that is tricking them. When we are angry towards sin and the plot of the enemy, we have kept ourselves well-guarded.

This produced the righteousness of God. Each one will not be condemned but encouraged to guard oneself better from the devices of the enemy.

The righteousness of God restores a person to His image and likeness. So that they can walk in the power that God has placed in them.

Therefore, let us be quick to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying, speak to bring understanding to address the real issues, and direct the anger towards satan and his works.

However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
I Corinthians 2:6 NKJV. (R)

Paul is speaking about the wisdom among the mature. This wisdom rests on one person, that is Christ Jesus, our Lord.

In Him, we have divine power and divine ability to do the impossible things.

The wisdom of the world rest on the things of the world but the wisdom of God rest on God and in Him alone.

Those who are mature in the Lord determine to put their hope and trust in God, in His promises and to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Anyone who would trust God and His word is called mature in the Lord. Maturity in Christ is not about age. It is about how much we can put our trust in Him.

Every wisdom of this world will come to nothing because heaven and earth will pass away but His word will remain.

Therefore the wisest thing do is to put our trust in Christ Jesus. It is a mature thing to do, to put our trust in someone who will never fail.

God has given to us the wisdom to live life here on earth. It is important to store up treasures that will last.

Christ is our wisdom,
Christ is our answer.

Let us put our complete trust in Him and live life purposefully.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
James 1:14 NKJV

James taught believers not to blame anyone for falling into temptation because each one has the power and ability to overcome every temptation.

James showed us what makes us lose the battle when we are tempted. Here we can see that OUR OWN DESIRE draws us away.

Drawn away here means to be dragged away, lured away, or pulled forth. This requires our attention, giving a second thought, a second look, or pondering on something that is not right for our soul.

When attention is given, a weight begins to take hold where we are dragged, swayed, or pulled like a current sweeping our feet, and we find ourselves in the middle of the mess.

Our power to overcome the temptation lies in our will. When our will bends towards God, temptation loses its gravity, loses the power to drag, or loses its strength to pull us towards the temptation.

Eve in the garden gave thought to what satan said, gazed at the possibilities, and desired it. Eve lost to the temptation not because she had no power over it, but because she just gave attention to what was against God's word.

Where is our attention given, what is going on in our minds, and what kind of desires are developing in our hearts?

It is important to look at it NOW, not after getting stuck in the mud, so to speak. Many people said that they wished they had not done this and had not said that.

But we all had a choice of what to do when it first appeared before us. Therefore, setting our minds on things above and cultivating the character of Christ in our lives is very crucial.

The temptation that we give in to will eventually entice us to fall into sin. Our value in life is reflected in the conversation that goes on within ourselves.

If the conversation that goes on within us is of God, then we will give attention to the right things and discard all that will stand against the image of God.

Let us be responsible for the power, authority, and wisdom that God has given to us to stand victorious till the end.
