Uniting in Prayer DAY 22 🙏
𝘣𝘺 𝘙𝘦𝘷 𝘠𝘷𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦 𝘎𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘴, 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘣𝘺𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘺 (𝘕𝘚𝘞). 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘨𝘺.

Blessed be you, O Holy Light-fitter,
who set the sun in its proper place
and scattered the stars across the skies
to brighten up our way.

Blessed be you,
Bright Morning Star,
the hope of our salvation,
dawning in our lives,
drawing nearer in this very moment.

Blessed be you,
O Sacred Flame,
who gives us life and tends our growth
through Your constant, gentle presence.

Blessed be You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
light with and within us.
In the midst of our troubles, anxiety, uncertainty and fear,
we proclaim the gift of God-with-us. Amen.

𝘣𝘺 𝘚𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 (𝘑𝘰𝘺𝘤𝘦) 𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪, 𝘍𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘗𝘶𝘭𝘴𝘦 (𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴) 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘕𝘚𝘞/𝘈𝘊𝘛

Loving Lord, we give you praise!
Since our formation we have been changing,
but Christ has been our foundation
and Your presence is constant O God.
We live in an ever-changing world.
Our Church is in flux too.
Even as we seek the way to go,
you are always with us.

Awaken our spirit!
Stir our hearts and minds.
Ready us to follow your call,
wherever it may lead.

Help us leave behind any pain of the past.
Replace the old, tired
and disappointed ways of our heart.
Restore us with your grace and strength,
fill us with new blessings of joy and peace.
We pray in Jesus name, Amen.

Invite one of the cultural groups within your Messy Church (or Messy Church Camp) to cook their favorite home country meal for everyone. Tell the story of how the Christian faith is lived out in their home country. Share the recipes and have fun. This is the table fellowship that Jesus is renowned for – where all human kind were welcomed at one table.

𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘒𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘤𝘐𝘭𝘭𝘩𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘢, 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘊𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯 2002.

O God who knows us in our weakness
and befriends us in our chaos,
free me from hate and fear;
turn pain and anger into tools for healing;
open the door to reconciliation
between friends and neighbours,
between nations and peoples,
that your truth may reign among us,
and your peace welcome us home.

Spirit of God brooding over
the waters of our chaos,
inspire us to generous living.

Wind of God dancing over
the desert of our reluctance,
lead us to the oasis of celebration.

Breath of God inspiring understanding
among strangers and friends,
make us channels of your peace.

𝘣𝘺 𝘙𝘦𝘷 𝘏𝘦𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘪𝘮, 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘵 𝘓𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘮𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩

Loving God!
We praise you for the gift of creation and re-creation.
We are thankful that we are on a new journey in the power of the Risen Christ.
We give thanks for the movement of the Holy Spirit
inspiring, helping, comforting, strengthening, advocating, and challenging us.

May the warm winds of the Holy Spirit
blow upon our church and congregations
May the love of Christ
bless all who live here and there
May your grace and mercy
make happy our faith journey
May your heart and eyes
always touch our lives and our wounded parts.

God who makes all things new
keep us in Your peace and love.

Welcome to Day 13 of - today we are at the halfway mark! 🙏
This prayer comes from Rev Andy Hogarth, Senior Minister at Journey Church Adelaide. It draws on the Lectionary readings for next Sunday 18 June so you might like to use this one in your worship.

Like Abraham and Sarah,
May we receive the servants you send us to bring fresh words and deeds.
Like the Psalmist,
May we call to you knowing you have heard us in the past and will fulfil all your promises.
May we be like Israel,
Whom you made a realm of priests and a holy nation, carried on wings like eagles.
May we,
The sheep of your pasture, make a joyful noise to you.

Oh Saviour God,
strengthen us in this time of testing that we may endure and grow.
Pour your Spirit of love into our hearts to strengthen our hope.

Lord Jesus,
Come and address us in your own strange way.
Call us anew as your disciples.
Send us anew to minister your renewal.
Grant us wisdom to know where to go.
Awaken courage within us when the time of testing comes.
Amen.

Loving God,
Thank you for this day.
For the opportunity to breathe and stretch and move and feel the sunlight on our skin.
Thank you for placing us here, wherever we are, and for your faithful and enduring presence as we navigate our place in the world.
In all our little outposts of the kingdom we are your hands and feet, Jesus.
Help us as we try to follow in your footsteps.

We pray for the earth under our feet.
For the hills and valleys and rivers and oceans.
For the creatures of land and sea and sky.
God who holds the universe, send your Holy Spirit to keep us connected to your creation, as you desire for us.
Give us the curiosity of children and the wisdom of elders.
We confess that too often we act as consumers rather than custodians, forgive us, and reconnect us with the world from which we have become separated.

We pray for the communities in which we live.
For the people we know and those we don’t.
For the faces we see every day and the ones that are hidden away.
Help us follow Christ’s example of radical hospitality and generous welcome, especially to those who have been excluded.
Help us, your church, to fulfill the call to care for all those around us.
When we come together as communities of faith, empower us with your Holy Spirit to be the church.

In the name of Jesus I walk and pray, Amen.
