🇹🇷📖 WHY THE KING OF THE NORTH IS TURKEY — NOT THE PAPACY! 📖🇹🇷

Many today teach that the King of the North in Daniel 11 is the papacy. But does the Bible actually say that? 🤔

When we allow Scripture to interpret itself, history to confirm prophecy, and follow the same rules of interpretation used by the early Adventist pioneers, a very different picture emerges.

📜 1. Daniel says he is revealing TRUTH

“I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth.” (Daniel 11:2)

Gabriel introduces the entire chapter as literal history. From Daniel 11:5-25, the King of the North and King of the South are literal kingdoms occupying Alexander’s divided empire.

❓Where does Scripture ever say they suddenly become symbolic in verses 40-45?

It doesn’t.

🏛️ 2. The Bible says to take Scripture literally unless a symbol is introduced

📖 Great Controversy, p. 598

“The language of the Bible should be explained according to its obvious meaning, unless a symbol or figure is employed.”

✅ King of the North = literal.
✅ King of the South = literal.

No symbol is ever introduced.

📚 3. Prophecy is fulfilled the same way throughout history

📖 Great Controversy, p. 321

“Taking the manner in which the prophecies had been fulfilled in the past as a criterion…”

If verses 5-25 were fulfilled literally, then verses 40-45 should also be fulfilled literally.

⚔️ 4. The Time of the End begins in 1798

📅 Daniel 11:40 begins:

“At the time of the end…”

The time of the end began in 1798, when the papacy lost its civil power.

At that very moment…

🇹🇷 The Ottoman Empire ruled the north.
🇪🇬 Egypt was an Ottoman territory.

Perfectly matching the prophecy.

🇪🇬 5. The King of the South pushes at France

Napoleon invaded Egypt in 1798 without Egypt’s permission.

🇪🇬 Egypt resisted.
⚔️ France attacked.
🏜️ Battle of the Pyramids.

Exactly as Daniel foretold.

🇹🇷 6. Turkey comes “like a whirlwind”

📅 September 11, 1798

The Ottoman Empire declared war on France.

⛵ Ships
🐎 Chariots (cannon carriages)
⚔️ Horsemen

Exactly as Daniel 11:40 describes.

History fulfilled prophecy perfectly.

📖 7. William Miller’s Rule

William Miller taught:

📜 If history completely fulfills a prophecy, we need look no further for another fulfillment.

History and prophecy agree perfectly.

✔️ Daniel 11:40 was fulfilled.

🌍 8. The Glorious Land is Jerusalem

Daniel 11:41 says:

“He shall enter also into the glorious land…”

📖 Daniel 9:16 identifies the glorious holy mountain as:

🏛️ Jerusalem.

Not America.
Not the Church.

Literal Jerusalem.

🕌 9. Turkey entered Jerusalem

During the conflict with Egypt…

🇪🇬 Egypt entered Palestine.

🇹🇷 Turkey followed and entered Jerusalem.

Many countries were overthrown.

Exactly as Daniel describes.

🏜️ 10. Edom, Moab and Ammon escaped

These ancient territories correspond roughly to modern:

🇯🇴 Jordan
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia

These areas escaped Ottoman conquest exactly as Daniel predicted.

💰 11. Egypt did not escape

Daniel 11:42-43 says Egypt would not escape.

History records Egypt paid tribute to the Ottoman Sultan.

Turkey controlled Egypt’s wealth.

Even Libya and Ethiopia came under Ottoman influence.

⚔️ 12. Tidings from the East and North

Daniel 11:44

🇮🇷 Persia (East)

🇷🇺 Russia (North)

These powers troubled Turkey.

This culminated in the:

⚔️ Crimean War (1853-1856)

Again, history agrees with prophecy.

🕌 13. Daniel 11:45 — The Final Sign

The King of the North…

📍Plants the tabernacles of his palace

📍Between the seas

📍In the glorious holy mountain

That location can only be:

🏛️ Jerusalem.

📚 Stephen Haskell wrote in 1901:

“The time will come when he will remove from Constantinople, and take up his abode in Palestine… for all know that when the Turk steps out of Constantinople, there will be a general breaking up of Europe.”

(Story of Daniel the Prophet, pp. 247-249)

🕌 Why Jerusalem?

Because Jerusalem contains Islam’s holy sites:

🕌 Dome of the Rock
🕌 Al-Aqsa Mosque

These have enormous religious significance to the Muslim world.

⏳ Daniel 12:1

Immediately after Daniel 11:45…

✨ Michael stands up.

This marks the close of probation.

The movement of Turkey becomes a final prophetic sign that earth’s history is drawing rapidly to its close.

❤️ The Bottom Line

✅ The King of the North and King of the South were literal throughout Daniel 11.

✅ History fulfilled Daniel 11:40-44 with remarkable accuracy.

✅ Jerusalem is the literal glorious land.

✅ Turkey occupies the historical territory of the northern division of Alexander’s empire.

✅ We should not spiritualise what God has left literal.

🙏 “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” (Matthew 24:42)

Daniel 11:45 is one of the final prophetic signs given before Daniel 12:1, where Michael stands up and probation closes. If we misunderstand Daniel 11:45 by changing the literal King of the North into a spiritual power, then we lose one of the final signs God intended His people to recognize.

📖 Jesus rebuked the religious leaders because they could discern the weather but could not discern the signs of the times (Matthew 16:3).

Likewise, if Daniel 11:45 is misunderstood, God’s people may fail to recognize the significance of world events as they unfold.

According to this prophetic understanding:

🇹🇷 The King of the North remains Turkey.
