We are an welcoming and affirming social and spiritual group for q***r Catholics in Perth. We are a fully inclusive and affirming community.

We are a group of Rainbow Catholics who support each other in regards to faith and sexuality. Our aim is to create a social group where we can catch up as well as support one another. We welcome anyone le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, q***r, asexual (LGBTIQA+) people regardless of whether they are young, old, single, celibate, married and from all backgrounds.

Some verses feel less like answers and more like an invitation to trust - even when we can’t yet see the full picture.

For this month's Favourite Bible Verses Member Feature, Oscar shared Isaiah 55:8-11. It's a reminder that God's ways are wider than our understanding, and that love, truth, and grace are never wasted. Like rain watering the earth, what is spoken in hope can still bear fruit long after we've lost sight of it. 🌧️✨

Some verses don’t just stay on the page - they become songs that we carry through different seasons of life.

For Carmal, Psalm 27 is one of those passages: "Although my father and my mother have abandoned me, yet the Lord will take me up."

What makes this psalm so powerful is that it begins with trust: "The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?"

Carmal shared that many beloved verses first came alive through music at the Rock Mass at the Cathedral in Adelaide - and that often, the "song" in our hearts leads us to the words we most need to hear.

Some days we need comfort.
Some days courage.
Some days simply the reminder that we are not abandoned.

This year’s Wear It Purple Day theme is "Colours of Courage".

Courage takes many forms, and while advocacy can look like speaking up, standing out, and creating a change - there's also a quieter form of advocacy like coming out, asking for support, living authentically, and standing up for your friends, family members, or colleagues who are LGBTIQA+SB.

Together, we can make a change in our schools, workplaces, communities and institutions. On the weekend, we gathered for our annual Acceptance Perth Retreat – the perfect time to slow down, reconnect with God, and reflect on our place in the world.

Our theme this year was ecology and our place within creation. We were surrounded by God's grandeur - from the big blue ocean and its never-ending soundtrack right in front of us, to the rocks beneath our feet and the trees and flowers around us; from the bees and pelicans nearby, to the people walking in the sun with their dogs. And at night, the stars above us. Everywhere we looked, there was something to wonder at – all of it made by the Creator's hand.

How can we look at the vastness and beauty of creation and not be filled with awe?
We are part of this extraordinary web of life - not at the centre of it, but amongst the wonders of the earth and sky, of creatures great and small. There is something humbling knowing how small we are, and something so beautiful about knowing that we all belong to each other.

Sometimes faith can feel like we need to have everything together - the right words, the right prayers, the right amount of strength. But this verse reminds us that God's kingdom was never reserved for the spiritually "perfect." It's for the weary, the searching, the uncertain, the hopeful, too.

That includes every LGBTIQA+ person who has ever been told they don't belong in a pew, a parish, or a prayer. You belong here. 🤍

There is comfort in knowing we can come as we are. Thank you to our Acceptance Perth community for the way you show up for one another, and to our host parish for helping make this a place we can truly call home.
