Our Quiz Night Fundraiser came down to a sudden-death tie breaker on Tuesday night โ€“ and the entire room was holding its breath.

After all the rounds were finished, two teams were tied for first place. We brought them to the front and asked one final question โ€“ what the population of Greater Perth is (as of mid-2025), with the closest answer taking the win.

๐Ÿ†Congratulations to our champions, Perfect Table! They really were the perfect table.
๐ŸฅˆCongratulations also to our runner ups, Pants and Suspenders
๐Ÿฅ‰ And also to 3rd place, Hearts of Deception

Thank you to everyone who came along, laughed, competed, donated, bought raffle tickets, bid in the silent auction, and helped raise funds for Acceptance Perth. Nights like this remind us how special this community really is. ๐Ÿ’œ

Today is the start of National Reconciliation Week.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is "All In", a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

"All In" makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoplesโ€™ rights isnโ€™t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

26/05/2026

National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation. While this date carries great significance for the Stolen Generations and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, it is also commemorated by Australians right around the country.

The first National Sorry Day was held on 26 May 1998, one year after the Bringing Them Home report was tabled in Parliament. The Bringing Them Home report is a result of a Government Inquiry into the past policies which caused children to be removed from their families and communities in the 20th century.

Following this, in 2000, there was one issue that was high on the agenda at the Sydney Harbour Bridge walk for reconciliation โ€“ an apology to the Stolen Generations.

It was also high in the sky, when a group of people โ€“ independent to the organisation of the walk โ€“ had the word โ€˜sorryโ€™ written in the clear blue skies above the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Such was the intensity of feeling and support for Stolen Generations members โ€“ many of whom were among the huge crowd that day.

Today, twenty-three years after the Bringing Them Home report and twelve years since the National Apology, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are still 10.6 times more likely than non-Indigenous children to be removed from their families.

We cannot begin to fix the problems of the present without accepting the truth of our history. Sorry Day asks us to acknowledge the Stolen Generations, and in doing so, reminds us that historical injustice is still an ongoing source of intergenerational trauma for Aboriginal and Torres Islander families, communities, and peoples.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ If a pride flag or rainbow imagery is considered too controversial for campus, what is a university Pride club allowed to display?

We stand with staff and students at the University of Notre Dame, where LGBTQIA+ club Notre Dame Stripes Fremantle has faced repeated restrictions - every stall, every awareness day, every time.

The University of Notre Dame is facing criticism over restrictions on displaying rainbow flags.

What bible verse has stayed with you through every season of life? ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

This month's Favourite Bible Verses Member Feature comes from Tim, who shares one of the most enduring calls at the heart of the Gospel - to love one another as Christ loves us.

"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." - John 13:35

May these words remind us that love, compassion, and community are powerful witnesses of faith. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ
