Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of our spiritual journey of transformation. As we receive ashes on our foreheads, we are reminded of our human frailty and our deep need for God’s mercy. The words, “Repent and believe in the Gospel,” echo in our hearts as both an invitation and a challenge. This holy season of Lent calls us to turn away from sin and to renew our faith in the saving love of Jesus Christ. Through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, we open our hearts to grace and allow God to shape us anew. May these forty days be a time of sincere conversion, deeper trust, and joyful hope in the Gospel.

A new chapter has begun!

Alongside my roles in Perth as Superior of the Australian Region of the Salvatorians and Director of the Salvatorian Spirituality Centre, I am grateful to begin a new ministry as School Chaplain at Chisholm College. Today marked my first day in the school community, and I am truly looking forward to this journey. My ministry will include celebrating weekday Masses, hearing confessions, leading staff prayers, offering spiritual guidance to staff and students, year group retreats, visiting classes, and finding many other ways to walk with this deeply Catholic, faith-focused community. I am thankful for the warm welcome already received and ask for your prayers as I begin serving and growing with the Chisholm College community in faith, hope, and love.

Thank you Gosford 😇

Dear Gosford friends,

Today I woke up in Gosford for the last time as your parish priest, and I would like to offer my final and heartfelt thank you to you all.

Thank you for seven wonderful years of walking the journey of faith together. These years have been filled with prayer, celebration, challenges, growth, and countless moments of grace. I am deeply grateful for the memories we have made together and for the many ways you have enriched my priestly ministry and my life.

I thank you especially for the unforgettable farewell week — for your generosity, kindness, beautiful messages, and words of encouragement that truly touched my heart. They are gifts I will carry with me and never forget.

Thank you to those who were present in the church week after week, faithfully praying and serving, and also to those whom I met only once or twice along the way. Each encounter mattered, and each of you has been a blessing to me in your own unique way.

As I move on to the next chapter of my ministry in WA, I keep you all in my prayers. May God continue to bless you, your families, and this parish community abundantly, and may St Patrick and St John Paul II always watch over you.

With gratitude and affection,
Fr Greg
