Hurstville New Church

Hurstville New Church Welcome! Our mission is to help create positive life change through reflecting on the Lord's Word and living by it.
(1)

It can start with recognizing that the Word has infinite wisdom that can lift us up and save us, no matter where we are. [Please note that we're on Dudley Street in *Penshurst*, not the one in Hurstville - we are west of King George's Rd.]

It was good to see you all today!

We had a vesper + reading service on Good Friday, followed by refreshment and hot-cross buns at the manse. We had two Chinese students joining a little later, who sang us a song! It was a heart-warming and meaningful day.

For this Easter Sunday, we will follow one of the central themes of the Crucifixion—disappointment and denial. And we will also reflect on what resurrection—the revival of our faith, in this context,—can mean. Come and join! You can also watch it here:

“Obviously, this does not speak of reality itself, but of our perception of God. As we look at this, we will follow one of the central themes of the Crucifix...

Why is serving others so important? Because Jesus speaks of it in terms of how we inherit the kingdom of heaven in Matthew 25. At our Sunday service, we will be reflecting on some of the ground-breaking topics that are connected to each other, such as heaven, serving the neighbour, and the last judgment for individuals. Come and join! You can also watch it here:

‘How Does the Lord Work in My Life?’ For this topic, we are going to explore a story from John 5, which is about a bitter man who's suffered from an infirmity for thirty-eight years. He did what he could do to get healed over the years, but it never worked until Jesus finds him. What can this tell us about our struggle? You can watch it here:

Thanks all who've contributed to our first donation drive of the year to the The Kogarah Storehouse. It was greatly appreciated! Those will be distributed to those who need them most. We will aim for another one toward the end of June. Special Credit: our neighbours on Dudley St. (Pastor HyunJin was just a delivery guy 😉).

This Sunday, we will begin our seven-week series on Pause: Make Space for God. The first week’s topic is, ‘How Does God Speak to Me?’ The Lord speaks to us in multiple ways, for example, through people who inspire us by their faithful life. This time, we will explore how the Lord speaks in parables, and how a truth of His Word can remain and grow in us like a seed growing into a fruitful tree. Come and join. You can also watch it here:

Hi, everyone. For our first Sunday service of the year, we will be reflecting on what Scripture says about ‘blaming on others’. Start the New Year with a focus on ourselves and changes to be made for ourselves! You can also watch it here:

We will be reflecting on a couple of different readings from the Word that illuminates our tendency of either ‘blaming on others’ or thinking ‘it is not me.’...
