St Declan’s Catholic Church

St Declan’s Catholic Church St Declan's is a Catholic parish in Penshurst. We seek to be joy-filled everyday disciples of Jesus whose mission is to bring the love of God to life in people.

We enjoy creating posts and stories that celebrate life, connection and love, and most of all, we want to encourage people to grow in relationship with God and live as Jesus' disciples. We would love to engage with you through comments but we ask that you do so with Christian love, charity and respect.

This week, we started our Connect Series.
In a world that is fast, full, and constantly demanding more of us, this series is an invitation to slow down and rediscover a deeper, more peaceful life with God. Listen to Fr Josh full homily through our Youtube channel for the first week of the Connect Series.

We will be holding a special Mass to acknowledge, remember, and support those who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, illness, injury, or natural death.

These losses may be recent or may go back many years; each one is held with tenderness, compassion, and care. The love for a child never fades, and every life, no matter how brief, is precious and worthy of remembrance.

This Mass of Consolation offers a sacred space for prayer, reflection, and healing. As a community of faith, we gather to honour the lives of babies and children who left this world too soon, to grieve with those who grieve, and to entrust these little ones to God's loving care.

Family members, friends, and all who wish to stand in solidarity with those who mourn are warmly invited to attend. Together, we pause to remember, to pray, and to find comfort in God's mercy, hope, and healing grace.

"Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever."

Today we celebrate Trinity Sunday, a mystery at the very heart of our faith.

We believe in one God in three Divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Distinct, yet perfectly united in love.

The Trinity reminds us that God is not distant, but a communion of love that invites us into relationship with Him and with one another.

May we grow in faith, unity, and love as we seek to live in the presence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

"Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit." 🙏

On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, filling them with boldness, unity, and faith.
What began as fear was transformed into mission.

The same Spirit is alive in us today—calling us to live with courage and to share the love of Christ with the world.

Last Sunday, we celebrated the Ascension of Jesus. ✨

In the Ascension, Jesus did not leave us alone — He entrusted His mission to His disciples, and now to us as His Church.

Listen to Fr Chris’ homily as he reflects on the importance of Jesus’ mission and shares the future formalisation plan for St Joseph Oatley & St Declan Penshurst.

As one parish family, may St Joseph & St Declan continue walking together in unity, carrying Christ’s love and mission into the world. 🤍

Let us pray 🙏🏼
