🧺 Thornleigh Street Pantry Shelves Need a Little Help
Our Street Pantry is only able to continue helping neighbours in need because of the generosity of our community.

We usually top up supplies each day, but as you can see from the photo taken yesterday, we’ve experienced an unusually strong demand this past week and stocks are running low.

If you’re able, please consider adding a few extra non-perishable items to your next grocery shop and dropping them into the pantry. Some items that are especially helpful right now include baked beans, pasta, rice, cereals, long life milk and basic toiletries.

Together, we are making a real difference in our community.

At our most recent Homeschool Chapel, the students learned about community service and explored the difference between being nice and being kind. (Do you think there's a difference between being nice and being kind?)

The students also learned about our Street Pantry ministry, the impact it has on the local community and how they can help share the love through the pantry. To further the experience, they had the chance to help stock the pantry and pack some hampers for local families who would appreciate the support.

👉 This Is What Community Looks Like at the Thornleigh Street Pantry

We have seen a delightful week of community involvement at the Thornleigh Street Pantry.

The pantry is checked most days by church members and topped up as needed, depending on available stocks. Currently we are going through 4–6 supermarket bags of groceries each day.

On three days last week, however, our restocking wasn’t needed. Our compassionate and generous neighbours had filled the pantry almost to capacity. While we regularly see small donation, this week was something special.

Thank you for your generosity. Large or small, every contribution makes a real difference in our community.

It is through your support that we are able to help meet food insecurity needs in our neighbourhood. If you would like to be involved, you’re welcome to simply leave a few non-perishable items in the pantry on a regular basis or contact us at [email protected].

🤲 Small Hands, Big Hearts at the Thornleigh Street Pantry 🤲
Over the end-of-year holidays, one of the loveliest things we’ve witnessed at the Thornleigh Street Pantry has been parents bringing their children along to help restock the shelves.
These moments have been a deliberate and thoughtful way for families to teach their children about generosity, compassion, and caring for others. It has been truly heart-warming to see little hands placing tins and packets into the pantry. One small item can become a big lesson in kindness
Thank you to every family who has chosen to make kindness a lived lesson. You are helping shape caring hearts and strengthening our community. ❤️

🎄 A Simple Way to Share Christmas Kindness 🎄
Over the Christmas period, our Thornleigh Street Pantry is experiencing higher-than-usual demand, and we’re finding it difficult to keep up.

If you’re able, please consider adding a few extra grocery items to your next shop and drop them into the pantry. Non-perishable items make a real difference for local families who are doing it tough at this time of year.

This can also be a meaningful way to involve your children, helping them learn about kindness, generosity, and thinking of others during the Christmas season.

Every tin, packet, or jar helps. Together, we can ensure no one in our community feels forgotten this Christmas. ❤️

Thank you for your ongoing care and support.

🎄 Christmas Giving at the Street Pantry 🎄
As Christmas approaches, many of us are preparing our homes, planning meals, and looking forward to time with loved ones. But for some families in our community, this season can also bring added pressure.

Our Thornleigh Street Pantry has seen an increase in visits recently, and shelves are emptying faster than usual. If you’re able, we’d love your help to spread a little Christmas kindness.

Next time you shop, please consider adding a few non-perishable items and popping them into the pantry at 10 Yarrara Rd. Even a single tin or packet can make a world of difference to someone nearby.

Let’s help ensure every household in our community feels the warmth of Christmas this year. ❤️
Thank you for your generosity!

Local Pantry Needs Your Help
Our Street Pantry is only able to keep helping our neighbours in need because of your generosity. There are times when some of our local families rely on the pantry for essentials, and it’s your regular donations of food items that make it possible.

We usually restock every few days, but as you can see from the picture below, we’ve had an unusually strong demand this past week and supplies are running low.

If you’re able, please consider adding a few extra non-perishable items to your next grocery shop and dropping them into the pantry. Every tin, packet, and jar helps someone nearby put a meal on the table.

Together, we can make a real difference in our community.
