Today was a double celebration...Congratulations on your 20th anniversary of ordination Fr Sales. We thank you for your leadership and devoted service to us and wish you continued blessings in the years ahead.
We also celebrated Mothers Day with a special blessing for all our mothers, followed by a delicious morning tea. It was great to see so many people attending. Grateful thanks to all the cooks and caterers for their efforts today 🙏🩵

At his workbench where he plied his trade as a carpenter together with Jesus, Joseph brought human work closer to the mystery of Redemption.

Work was indeed a daily expression of love in the life of the Family of Nazareth. Jesus was a craftsman like Joseph of Nazareth. He belonged to the working world and appreciated and respected human work.

In his parables on the kingdom of God, Jesus made constant references to work: that of a shepherd, a farmer, doctor, fisher, merchant and other occupations.

So today, let us unite in a prayer for all workers and for the fruitfulness of human work. St Joseph the Worker, pray for us!

Don't forget a 'spiritual bouquet' for Mum this coming Mother's Day!!!

May 10th

Mother's Day weekend is coming up! Many might bring flowers and gifts for their mothers as a sign of love and gratitude. Be sure also to pray and offer your mom a "spiritual bouquet" - this might be offering Masses or Rosaries, or even acts of charity, while asking the Lord to pour out spiritual blessings on your mother.

Happy Feast of St Joseph the Worker

St Joseph the Worker

Today (1 May) we celebrate the feast of St Joseph the Worker.

In the time of ideological conflict, Pope Pius XII instituted the feast of St Joseph the Worker on 1 May 1955 and deliberately held up St Joseph the Worker as a model for all who follow Christ.

As Sr Mary Cresp shares, "St Joseph the Worker reminds us that work is not merely economic activity but a vocation: a call through which human beings collaborate with the ongoing work of the Creator, grow in holiness, fulfil their God‑given potential, and contribute to society.

"... Joseph, revered as the Just Man, exemplified right relationship – justice – toward both God and neighbour. His quiet fidelity reminds us that, regardless of social status, all people are owed respect, dignity, and fair treatment."

Sr Mary shares about the history of the feast and more here: www.sosj.org.au/st-joseph-the-worker-26

Among all vigils, the Easter Vigil stands as the most crucial, honouring the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

We extend a heartfelt welcome to our newly baptised and confirmed Catholics, Aisha, James, Barbara, and Jason, along with their families, in our parish. As you continue to nurture your faith and love, may the Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, through the intercession of our Mother Mary and the prayers of Fr Salas, Fr Vijay, and the communities of St Christopher's Catholic Church Panania and St Patrick's Catholic Church Revesby Heights, serve as your guiding shield.

Warmest wishes to all on this joyous Easter.

Jesus is Risen, Alleluia!!
