🌿 South West Christian Church – Weekly Update 🌿

Hello Church Family! 👋

We had a wonderful time together on Sunday as we continued our Tabernacle teaching series with the message: "The Significance of the Table of Showbread and the Lord's Supper."

Our key scripture was Psalm 127:1 – "Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain." This reminded us that every home, family, and life must be built upon God's foundation.

We explored how the Tabernacle was God's design for restoring relationship with His people and how the Table of Showbread pointed prophetically to Jesus Christ. The bread represented God's provision, presence, and covenant faithfulness to Israel, while the associated wine pointed to fellowship, joy, and covenant relationship.

Through the Lord's Supper, Jesus fulfilled what the Showbread foreshadowed. The bread reminds us that Christ is the Bread of Life who sustains us spiritually, and the cup represents His blood shed for our forgiveness and redemption. We were reminded that communion is more than a memorial—it celebrates our fellowship with God, proclaims Christ's finished work on the cross, and points forward to the glorious Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

✨ Key Takeaways
• God provides all we need through Christ.
• God redeems us through Jesus' sacrifice.
• God desires fellowship with His people.
• God faithfully keeps His covenant promises.
• The Lord's Supper reminds us of the cross and Christ's return.

✨ SUNDAY RECAP – LEARNINGS FROM THE TABERNACLE ✨

This Sunday we continued our series on the Tabernacle and explored the Golden Lampstand in the Holy Place. 🕯️

The Lampstand reminded us that God desires to dwell among His people and that Jesus is the true Light of the World. Just as the priests were commanded to keep the flame burning continually, we are called to keep our spiritual lives burning brightly through prayer, holiness, worship, and daily fellowship with Christ.

💡 “You are the light of the world.” – Matthew 5:14

We also learned:
• God is intentional in how we approach Him
• The Lampstand pointed prophetically to Jesus
• As believers, we are now a royal priesthood called to shine His light into a dark world

📖 ANNOUNCEMENTS
• Alpha Course – Wednesday Night at 7pm
All welcome! Please let us know if you are attending for catering purposes.

• Sunday 14th June
Guest Speaker: Ps Adrian Dunwell from Life Source Church

We look forward to gathering together again this week! 🙌

🌿 God’s Desire: To Dwell With His People

From the Garden of Eden to the Tabernacle, and ultimately through Jesus, the Bible reveals one powerful truth: God wants a relationship with us.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” – Psalm 127:1

What began in Eden as direct fellowship was disrupted by sin—but God made a way. The Tabernacle showed us that access to God is possible, but only through His design… and ultimately, through Jesus.

🙏 Let’s continue to choose Him daily and grow in that relationship.

Hi Church family! 😊

Here’s a quick recap from our Easter message: “He Is Risen – From Defeat to Victory”

On Good Friday it looked like defeat… but Easter Sunday revealed the truth—Jesus defeated the enemy! 🙌

The empty tomb reminds us:
• The battle is already won
• What feels like “halftime” in life is not the end
• True life is only found in Jesus

Also, a key challenge:
👉 It’s not just about knowing about Jesus—but knowing Him personally.

What a Blessed Sunday Morning.

Joel continued our study on the Fruit of the Spirit: Joy

Joy is more than a feeling—it’s a gift from God.
It’s not dependent on circumstances, but rooted in Christ.

Jesus said, “that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (John 15:11)

No matter what season you’re in, real joy comes from knowing Him, trusting Him, and walking daily with Him. It strengthens us, sustains us, and points others to God.

Let’s be people of joy this week—not because life is always easy, but because Christ is always faithful 🙏

A common question asked as we approach Easter is “Why Did Jesus Have To Die?

If you ask people this question, you’ll get many different answers—about sin, forgiveness, sacrifice, or victory over death.
But at the heart of it all is one powerful truth: Jesus chose to die because God loves us.

From the beginning, humanity was created to live in close relationship with God—the source of life. But when we chose our own way over His, sin and death entered the world, separating us from Him.

Throughout the Bible, we see God making a way back—through the tabernacle, sacrifices, and ultimately through Jesus. In Jesus, God stepped into our broken world, took on our death, and made a way for us to return to Him. When Jesus died, the barrier between God and humanity was torn down. And when He rose again, He showed us that death is not the end.
Because of Jesus:
• We are forgiven
• We are restored
• We no longer have to live in fear

The cross is not just about death—it’s about love, life, and a way back to God.

Hi Beautiful People 😊

Yesterday we looked at the story of Noah and the Ark. The Bible reminds us in Book of Psalms 127 that “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.” Noah chose to build his life God’s way. He feared God, walked with Him, loved Him, served Him and obeyed His commands.

Just like Noah built an ark to save his household, we are called to build our lives and families on God’s foundation. When we follow Him, He guides our steps and works all things together for good.

Sermon Snapshot from Sunday 8/3

Genesis 6 paints a stark picture of a culture that’s lost its way — sexual brokenness, violence, and hearts turned from God. Still, in the middle of that darkness God’s grace appears: Noah found favor and was saved. The message for us is simple and hopeful: we can’t save ourselves, but God’s mercy is available to everyone. If you’re wrestling with life, faith, or just want real community, come and be part of the conversation.

Come along:

Wed 11/3 — Prayer meeting, 7:00 PM, followed by Bible study at church. A relaxed, supportive space to pray and learn together.

Wed 18/3 — Alpha kicks off, 6:30 PM at church. Casual, friendly, perfect for asking questions and meeting others — invite someone along.

All welcome.
