Happy Father's Day to all the dads, granddads, and father-figures in our SWCC family!
💙 What a wonderful Sunday it was as we gathered together to honour you.
This Week's Message: "Building a House That God Dwells In"
Pastor took us to Psalm 127:1 — “Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.” Using the pattern of the Old Testament Tabernacle (the Outer Court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies), we saw a beautiful picture of how fathers can build their families: starting with their own walk with Jesus, creating space for prayer and connection at home, and making God's presence the true centre of family life.
The challenge was clear — a good family isn't the goal; a God-centred family is. 🏠✝️
Fathers, your children may forget the car you drove, but they won't forget that you prayed, worshipped, and loved Jesus. That's a legacy worth building!

🌿 **SOUTH WEST CHRISTIAN CHURCH – WEEKLY UPDATE** 🌿

Hi Church Family! 😊

We pray you’ve had a blessed week. It was wonderful to gather together on Sunday to worship, fellowship and hear God’s Word.

A special thank you to **Ruth**, who preached a great and encouraging message on **Faithfulness**. 🙏 It was a timely reminder of who God is and what it means for us to continue walking with Him, even when we don’t understand what He is doing.

# # # 🕊️ SUNDAY’S MESSAGE – FAITHFULNESS

📖 **Key Scriptures:**
Deuteronomy 7:9 • Hebrews 11:39 • 2 Corinthians 12:9 • Galatians 5:22–23

Faith says, **“I believe God is who He says He is.”**

Faithfulness says, **“I’m going to continue walking with Him even though I don’t understand what is happening.”**

We were reminded that God is faithful because faithfulness is part of His very character. Our response is to trust Him and keep walking, even when we cannot see the outcome.

We looked at Noah, who faithfully built the ark despite never having seen rain; Abraham, who obeyed God without knowing where he was going; Sarah, who trusted God for a child when it seemed impossible; and the Israelites, who faithfully marched around Jericho before seeing the walls fall.

Paul’s experience with his “thorn” also reminds us that God doesn’t always remove the difficulty. Sometimes He uses the difficulty to deepen our dependence on Him: **“My grace is sufficient for you.”**

🙌 Sunday’s Message: Freely You Have Received — Now Freely Give

It was such a great honour to have Ps Nick Lo Surdo from Destiny Church, Bowral, with us this Sunday. We were truly blessed by his ministry, passion for Jesus and the challenge he brought from God’s Word. Thank you Ps Nick for being with us!

📖 Key Scripture: Matthew 10:7–8

Jesus told His disciples, “As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ … Freely you have received; freely give.”

We were reminded that God doesn’t call us to wait until we feel perfectly qualified before we step out in faith. The disciples were still learning, yet Jesus gave them authority and power and sent them out.

Our gifts are not given for personal status or recognition—they are given for the common good. What God has freely placed in us is meant to flow outward through prayer, encouragement, compassion, serving, sharing our testimony and believing God for others.

Faith moves. Gifts grow through use.

The challenge for us this week is simple:

👉 Don’t wait until you feel ready. As you go, trust God and freely give what you have received.

Good morning, Church family! 👋

We pray you had a blessed Sunday and that this week you are continuing to grow in your walk with Jesus. Here’s a look back at Sunday’s message and what’s coming up at South West Christian Church.

📖 Sunday’s Message
“Unless the Lord Builds the House”

Key Text: Psalm 127:1

“Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.”

Solomon’s Temple was one of the most magnificent buildings of the ancient world, filled with gold and built for the glory and presence of God. Yet around 400 years later, it was destroyed and Jerusalem fell to Babylon. The problem wasn't the building—it was that God’s people had gradually moved from His presence to religious routine, obedience to compromise, and worship to idolatry.

Sunday’s message challenged us to look beyond what appears successful on the outside and examine what is happening in our hearts. A magnificent “house” cannot compensate for a divided heart. God doesn't simply want us to build successful lives, marriages, families or churches—He wants to be at the centre of them.

🏛️ GOD WANTS TO DWELL WITH US

From Eden → the Tabernacle → Solomon’s Temple → Jesus → the Church → New Jerusalem, the story of Scripture points to one incredible truth:

God desires to dwell with His people.

🌿 South West Christian Church – Weekly Update 🌿

G'Day Church Family! ❤️

What a wonderful morning together as Joel continued our Fruit of the Spirit series, focusing on Goodness.

Goodness is much more than simply being nice—it is living a life that actively pursues what is right because we are walking closely with Jesus. We were reminded that true goodness isn't produced by willpower or good intentions, but by the Holy Spirit as we abide in Christ (John 15:4–5). We looked at God's perfect goodness (Psalm 34:8), the life of Jesus who "went around doing good" (Acts 10:38), and the Good Samaritan, who showed that biblical goodness is love in action, even when it is costly or inconvenient. As we remain connected to Christ, His goodness becomes visible through our everyday words, choices, and actions.

Hello Church Family! We pray you have a blessed week ahead. Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday as we explored the incredible biblical journey "From Eden to Eternity."

"You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house..."

This week's message reminded us that God's greatest desire has always been to dwell with His people. From the Garden of Eden, to the Tabernacle and Temple, through Jesus Christ, and now in His Church, the Bible tells one beautiful story of God's presence being restored to humanity. We were challenged to remember that under the New Covenant, God is building people, not just buildings. As living stones, we are called to welcome His presence into our hearts, marriages, families and everyday lives. As we begin our Alpha Marriage Course this week, Psalm 127:1 reminds us that unless the Lord builds the house, our efforts are in vain. The strongest homes are those built on God's presence.

📖 Sunday's Message – The Ark of the Covenant

This week we explored the Ark of the Covenant, the most sacred object in the Tabernacle. More than a beautifully crafted gold-covered chest, it was the place where God chose to meet with His people (Exodus 25:22). Inside were the tablets of the Law, the jar of manna and Aaron's budding rod—each reminding us of humanity's failure through disobedience, unbelief and rebellion. Yet above them sat the Mercy Seat, where sacrificial blood was sprinkled on the Day of Atonement. Every detail points to Jesus Christ—our perfect High Priest, the Bread of Life, the fulfilment of the Law, and our true Mercy Seat. Through His sacrifice, God's justice and mercy meet, making a way for us to come boldly into His presence.
