Assalamu'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
We are pleased to provide the community with an update on the Al Majid Mosque Jenazah (Ghusl) Room Project.
Alhamdulillah, we have received Planning Approval from the City of Joondalup. This is a significant milestone that allows the project to progress into the engineering, compliance, and building permit stages before construction can commence.
We are currently progressing through the Engineering Design Phase and have commenced the process of obtaining a Certificate of Design Compliance (CDC) assessment from an independent Building Surveyor. This step helps ensure the design complies with all relevant building regulations before we move to the next stage of obtaining builder quotations, permits and construction approvals.
The proposed facility will include:
- Dedicated Jenazah wash room.
- Temperature controlled air conditioned room.
- Garage for Jenazah vehicle access.
- Hallway connecting the facility directly to the mosque.
Fundraising efforts remain ongoing and will support the design, approvals, and construction of this important community project. We are grateful for the continued support, duas, and generosity of our community.
