Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

We have been contacted by Boorloo (Perth) Public Health Unit regarding a confirmed case of measles involving a person who attended Al Majid Mosque on Friday 23 October 2026, approximately 1:40 pm to 2:25 pm.

If you were at the mosque during this time, please read the attached Public Health contact letter and measles fact sheet carefully and follow the advice provided.

In particular:
- Please monitor for symptoms of measles.
- If you develop symptoms, do not attend the mosque, work, school or other public places, and contact your GP before attending in person.
- Anyone who was present during this time and is pregnant or immunocompromised should contact the Boorloo Public Health Unit urgently on 1300 623 292.

Please also share this message and the attached information with family or friends who may have attended the mosque during this period.

Assalamu'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

We are pleased to provide the community with an update on the Al Majid Mosque Jenazah (Ghusl) Room Project.

Alhamdulillah, we have received Planning Approval from the City of Joondalup. This is a significant milestone that allows the project to progress into the engineering, compliance, and building permit stages before construction can commence.

We are currently progressing through the Engineering Design Phase and have commenced the process of obtaining a Certificate of Design Compliance (CDC) assessment from an independent Building Surveyor. This step helps ensure the design complies with all relevant building regulations before we move to the next stage of obtaining builder quotations, permits and construction approvals.

The proposed facility will include:

- Dedicated Jenazah wash room.
- Temperature controlled air conditioned room.
- Garage for Jenazah vehicle access.
- Hallway connecting the facility directly to the mosque.

Fundraising efforts remain ongoing and will support the design, approvals, and construction of this important community project. We are grateful for the continued support, duas, and generosity of our community.

Please see the attached milestone update for our current progress and upcoming stages.

May Allah (SWT) accept this effort, benefit our community through it, and make it a source of ongoing reward (Sadaqah Jariyah) for all those who contribute.

Eid ul-Adha Mubarak prayers at Al Majid Mosque today were truly special. It was heartwarming to see people from diverse cultural backgrounds come together as one community, sharing the joy and spirit of Eid.

The Committee Members of Al Majid Mosque sincerely thank Rizq Events & Tours and the entire team for generously sponsoring more than 600 cups of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, along with cakes, bread, and crackers. We also extend our appreciation to Sup Meletup for providing noodles for our volunteers. Your kindness and support helped make the day even more memorable for everyone.

A huge thank you as well to our traffic management team for both sessions, helping to keep the traffic flow safe, smooth, and well organised throughout the day. Your efforts and dedication are deeply appreciated. Special thanks also to all volunteers who helped with the preparations before and after the prayers, stayed back for the clean-up, and to those who generously prepared and distributed candy bags for our little kids. Your contributions brought smiles and joy to the community and helped make this Eid celebration a beautiful and memorable occasion for everyone.

May Allah accept your good deeds and bless you abundantly for your generosity and service to the community.
