Mother's Day marks a day of celebration to honour our mothers and celebrate motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society.
This also marks a busy day at Palmdale Lawn Cemetery as families come to remember and pay tribute to those women in their lives who they have lost.
Please park in the main carpark where possible to ease the traffic.
We invite you on Mother's Day to visit and reflect.

Australia will hold a National Day of Mourning on Thursday 22 January 2026 to honour the victims of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.
While it is not a public holiday, the day is recognised nationally as a time to pause and reflect together.
As a symbol of remembrance, we're encouraging institutions around Australia to illuminate on the night of Thursday 22 January.
If you would like to observe the day, there are simple ways to do so:
- observe one minute of silence on 7:01pm AEDT on 22 January
- come together with family and friends to share a meal and spend time with people of all faiths and backgrounds
- leave a candle on your doorstep or windowsill as a symbol of remembrance, mourning and solidarity with the Jewish community

Remembrance Day 11 November - Wreath laying ceremony at 11am

REMEMBRANCE DAY 11 November 🇦🇺 -at the Defence Force Memorial at 11am ~ Palmdale Lawn Cemetery & Memorial Park The first Armistice Day was a time of both joy and sorrow. People filled the streets to celebrate peace, yet countless families mourned loved ones who never came home. From that day, the tradition of observing silence at 11:00 a.m. began, a simple yet powerful act of reflection that continues to unite us all.
In partnership with Palmdale Lawn Cemetery & Memorial Park & Greenway Chapel & Memorial Gardens will be hosting a ceremony with a wreath laying.
