Northmead Uniting Church A community of God's people that seeks to share the struggle and joy of live and experience Christ's hope and healing among us.

We have groups and activities that seek to promote relationships with one another and God, the source of all being. We desire to grow in spiritual maturity through reflection, meditation and conversations that explore our questions, doubts and hopes. We live out faith and hope in the wider community, seeking to experience and celebrate God in our midst as we share with other people. Northmead Unit

It is the maturity and hope we need in our world.

This week, the Rev. Helen Richmond reminds us that this is NAIDOC week and tells the story of Yarramundi, an early Australian indigenous leader at the time when Australia was first settled. Helen entwines the story, using the Matthew story of the extravagant “Sower” that Jesus told. Jesus says “all those who have ears, let them hear”. Why is it that some people hear the message of Jesus and others don’t? Jesus wants us all to flourish.

The Rev. Geoff Stevenson is explaining what Jesus was talking about in Matthew 11, this week, where Jesus invites us to learn from him, to live into a different way of being and engaging our world and its tremendous challenges. Where everyone is welcomed and all can receive love, peace, hope, justice and the invitation to live more fully, sharing together. Where everyone is worthy of love.
