When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, and one of them, an expert in the law, asked him a question to test him. "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?”

It’s a good question. We might also put it thus: How do we live? Here we are, with this universe full of things and experiences, labadoodles looking for treats in cafes, terrible wars, beautiful crisp mornings in Melbourne, incomprehensibly vast supernovas and all the rest, and here we are. What is a life, and how do we live it?

One of the most insightful ideas I have heard about what church is for is this: "God's mission has a church." We are going to spend some quality time with this idea. For instance, what on earth does it mean to say that "God has a mission"? And, if so, what might that mean for the world in general, and the church in particular?

Please join us for a cosy winter’s evening reflecting on St Lucia’s them of light in the darkness.

This will be a social night, eating together by candlelight (byo dinner), with mulled w**e and traditional sweet treats provided.

There will be a couple of reflection stations provided for you to interact with if you desire.

Join us on Tuesday 4/8 at 7pm as we engage one of strangest stories in Scripture - Jacob wrestling with the mysterious man / angel / God.
