No one can force a person to believe or to go to church. If our heart is filled only with the chase for power, fame, or money, the words of Christ will feel empty. But if we are like the man who found a treasure in a field and sold everything to buy that field — if we are ready to seek the Kingdom with perseverance — then we will receive far more than we expect.

“The Holy Church of Christ, recognising that marriage and family constitute one of the greatest blessings of humanity, desires to make her voice heard and to offer her assistance both to those who already understand the value of marriage and family life and strive to remain faithful to it in their lives and to those who are uncertain, troubled, and searching for the truth,” said Bishop Volodymyr Viytyshyn during the second day of the Eparchial Pilgrimage in Canberra.

On this day in 2020, in Lviv, He was ordained as the third bishop for Ukrainian Catholics in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania.
Your Eminence, on behalf of all the clergy of the Melbourne Eparchy and all the faithful in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania, we sincerely congratulate you on this anniversary of your episcopal service.
We thank God for your leadership and dedication, and we pray that you may be granted strength, wisdom, and perseverance in your ministry.
May the words of your spiritual teaching continue to grow in the hearts of the faithful and bear lasting fruit, so that the Church of Christ may be strengthened and flourish.

“Every time we gather for the Divine Liturgy, something extraordinary happens: Christ does not only unite Himself to each of us individually — He unites us to one another. The Eucharist builds the Church. It forms a people. It creates communion. Here in Punchbowl, you know this well. Your parish is a home for families newly arrived, for those carrying the wounds of war, displacement, and uncertainty, for young people searching for meaning, and for elders who have kept the flame of faith burning through decades of hardship. When you gather around this altar, you are not strangers. You are one Body. You are one family. You are one Church. The Eucharist is the antidote to division, to loneliness, to fear. It is the medicine that heals the fractures of our world.”
