Divine Liturgy - Canberra Pilgrimage

On Saturday, June 6, the all-Australian pilgrimage of the faithful of the Melbourne Eparchy began in Canberra with a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. The service was led by Bishop Volodymyr Viytyshyn, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ivano-Frankivsk, who is currently on a visit to Australia.

Pentecost - the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles of Jesus, Mary Mother of God and other followers of Christ.

Pentecost marks the Birthday of the Church. It is one of our moveable feasts as it is 50 days after the Resurrection of Christ, with no set date.

Our Cathedral was decorated with fresh green branches🌿 to signify that the Church is ever-living and ever-renewed by the Holy Spirit. Our clergy were also dressed in green vestments.

After the Liturgy there was a procession to the Cross in the car park to pray the Panachyda in memory of the heroes of Ukraine who laid their life down for her the fight for her freedom.🙏🏻🙏🏻

Another week of steady progress on our Cathedral drainage project.

This week the team laid the first sections of the new drainage system and mapped out the full path of all collectors and pipes across the grounds. The roadmap is set — now we follow it through.

All sewerage and water works from previous weeks are complete and running. We are firmly in the final underground phase. 💪
