We finish every Liturgical Service including at today’s Hierarchical Holy Liturgy with our Prayer for Ukraine - «Молитва за Україну» 🙏🏻

This is the second verse being sung by our Cathedral choir with Parishioners joining in.

Holy God, Holy Almighty, Holy Eternal One 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Святий Боже Святий Кріпкий Святий Безсмертний

Sung during the «Архиєрейська Богослужіння» Hierarchical Holy Liturgy - in Greek by the clergy. Today we had Archbishop Volodymyr Viytyshyn and Bishop Mykola Cardinal Bychok. Always very beautiful to listen to.

🙏🏻A beautiful day in our North Melbourne Parish 🙏🏻

Part 2 - Luncheon in the Parish Hall.

The Parish Hall was filled to the brim with Parishioners who wanted to thank Father Peter for his devotion to our Parish.

Our delicious lunch was blessed and our first greeting for Father Peter was from fellow priest and friend Father Simon - he spoke beautifully about the many memories that have been shared and that he will miss Father Peter dropping in “unexpectedly and very quietly” 😉

Then Dr Marko Pavlyshyn spoke sharing their early memories from Brisbane where Father Peter grew up with his family and their early days as Ukrainian Scouts Plast. Lovely to hear so many interesting stories about Father Peter.

Father Peter was greeted and thanked by Teklya Theresa Jaworski (and Hania Polatajko) on behalf of our Parish Council and the whole Cathedral Parish.

This was followed by cutting of the special occasion cake, Mnohaya Lita, and a most beautiful speech with funny moments by Father Peter. A standing ovation followed for our dear Father Peter.

Father Peter was inundated with Parishioners personally coming up with special thanks.

May God bless you dear Father Peter - everyday and keep you healthy and safe.

Thank you for everything you have done and how you have loved and cared for us all.

Father Peter will be so very missed by all of our Parish. 🙏🏻🙏🏻😢

🙏🏻A beautiful day in our North Melbourne Parish🙏🏻

Part 1

Our Sunday Liturgy was blessed with the presence of our special guest the Bishop Volodymyr Viytyshyn, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ivano-Frankivsk.

We also farewelled our most loved priest Father Peter Struk who is now retiring. 🙏🏻

Father Peter has worked tirelessly in our Parish (and other Parishes) for well over 30 years - travelling to our country parishioners, visiting the sick at home and in hospital , the isolated, the lonely, the bereaved and just dropping in for chats. And of course carrying out all his other priestly responsibilities.

We will miss him just so much 😢

Head of our Parish council Nadia Bennett with Maria and Liza, greeted the Archbishop with traditional bread and salt welcoming him to our Cathedral Parish.

Father Peter was thanked by Bishop Mykola Cardinal Bychok for all his services to our Parish - it was an emotional moment. This was followed by greeting from Father Simon.

Bishop Mykola was received a special gift - the relics of Saint Charbel - all Parishioners came forward to be anointed with the special oils from the relics of St Charbel.

Then everyone moved into the Parish Hall for a farewell luncheon for our Father Peter - Part 2 following.
