π Give Thanks > Miracles of Jesus sermon 3.
π Intro
Today is our final message on a three part series on the miracles of Jesus. β¨
π We looked at Jesus walking on the water (and Peter walked on the water too)
π©Ό We also talked about the lame man who was healed by the pool of Bethesda
π And today I want to preach about the 10 l***rs who were healed by Jesus.
β¨ Also want to say that miracles can still happen today, if we have faith, God is still able!
π John 14
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Jesus also said to his disciples in Matthew 10:8:
β€οΈβπ©Ή βHeal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the l***rs, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.β
He also said at the end of Mark 16:
π₯ 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

π Point 1 - lift up your voice!
π Luke 17:11-19
11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were l***rs, which stood afar off:
13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
π’ They lifted up their voices! Other translations say they raised their voices and shouted. God gave us a voice and we should use it to praise him. π To glorify him. π To worship him. To call out to him. π

π Point 2 - leprosy background
π Leviticus 13:
45And the l***r in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
46All the days wherein the plague is in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be.
β οΈ Leprosy was a type of sin. ie it was metaphorically the same as sin and there are many similarities between sin and leprosy.
For example, sin will spread and get worse, similar to leprosy. Sin, hidden or not, will only get worse and worse.
π« Sin will cause separation, similar to leprosy.
π The people couldnβt judge themself or each other to say whether they had leprosy, they had to go to the priest. Itβs not up to our own judgement how we should live or our friends or family, itβs up to the Word of God. Obeying the Word.
βοΈ The only answer to leprosy was God and the only answer to sin is Jesus. Acts 2:38 says repentance is the start of the restoration process! π Itβs a new birth experience. π±

π Point 3 - be thankful!
Talk about getting thankful after having leprosy and then being healed. β¨ They were outside the camp, shunned, treated like a l***r, not able to see family or friends, it was very difficult to buy or get food or water and where would they sleep? ποΈ They had nothing. Often in the Bible itβs the l***rs who are begging for food or money. π
π€ It makes me think of all the things we shouldnβt take for granted.
π§ Clean fresh water
πΏ Hot water for showers
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Friends and family
πΌ A job
π A house to stay in
π Clothes
π¦ Whatever possessions we have
β€οΈ Our health, our breath and life
βοΈ Knowing God
In this story, 10 men who were l***rs were all healed and their lives changed forever β¨ but only one came back to say thankyou π and he was a Samaritan, a stranger.
The 9 others just wanted to get the all-clear from the priest so they could see their family (children), start a job again etc. Live their life.
Thatβs only 1 in 10 of the people healed who came back and said thankyou.
π Itβs a reminder to us to be thankful for every blessing, every Word, every healing, every time he provides etc.
π The Bible says to enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. π

π Conclusion
β¨ The miracle happened when they had faith and obeyed Jesus.
π They called out to him to have mercy on them.
π£ He told them to go and show themselves to the priest and as they went they were healed/cleansed.
β¨ As they went! As they obeyed, they were miraculously healed.
π€ Is there something God wants you to do? Something youβve seen in the Word but havenβt acted on yet?
πͺ Obeying God's Word is the gateway to miracles. Why do you try God today, obey his Word and see the blessings flow in your life.
