Axis Kids is the children’s ministry of Axis Church in North lakes. We are a vibrant ministry connecting with young people from newborns to grade 6.

We run various weekend programs and a midweek playtime for under 5s.

🎉 Big News! 🎉

We are SO excited to announce that this Sunday, our creche will officially be in its brand-new space! 🏠✨ This means MORE room, MORE fun, and MORE opportunities to accommodate all of our little ones! 💖

With the larger space it means we can accomodate from ages 0-4 in the creche and SLAM will be for Prep all the way to grade 6 🙌. It's going to be an AMAZING space for every age group to grow, learn, and play! 💫

Let’s kick off this exciting new chapter together! 🎈

🚨 **Kid's Ministry is BACK in session this Sunday!** 🚨

We’re so excited to welcome all kids back to a new season of learning and growing in faith! 🙌 This is a fantastic discipleship opportunity for children ages 0 to Year 6 to connect in small groups and dive into God’s Word at their own age level. 🌟

🧸 **What to Expect:**

✔️ **Creche (0-3 years)**: Check-in at the Creche room at the front right of the auditorium.
✔️ **SLAM Jam (Kindy - Grade 4)**: In the brand new Next-Gen Hall.
✔️ **SLAM Plus (Grade 5 - Grade 6)**: Also in the new Next-Gen Hall.
✔️ **Mum’s & Bub’s Room**: Available at the back left of the auditorium.

Kids will be checked in and go straight to their allocated rooms when you arrive at church. We're ready to see the next generation grow in their faith! 💡

Hey everyone!!

Did you see this week's science experiment?! Why not try it at home?

ITEMS NEEDED:
A piece of flat styrofoam (from a take out box) or non-corrugated cardboard
A toothpick
A large tray or tub with water
Dish soap

Instructions:
Cut the styrofoam or cardboard into a boat-like shape, with a triangular notch cut in the
back. Make the boat about 2 inches long.
Using the toothpick, apply dish soap to the notch in back of the boat, covering all sides
of the triangle.
Set the boat in the water, and watch the boat take off!
Note: to re-create the experiment with a new boat, you will need to dump the now
soapy water and start again with fresh water.

Hi everyone!!

Quick kid's ministry update:
1. THIS SUNDAY the 15th of December is our last week of Kid's Ministry for the year! 😭. So... we are having a Christmas party this week! 🎉 Please come in your most Christmassy outfit and be ready to have lots of fun! Plus we will be watching a special video presentation.
2. THIS SUNDAY the 15th of December will also be our Year 6 Prayer and Blessing at the end of the church service. Please join us in celebrating this exciting achievement and wishing the children well as the head into high school!
3. SCHOOL HOLIDAYS - Over the school holidays we will have family services during our 9am church services. There will be:
- A special Kid'sSpot Video each week during the service with activity packs for all.
- The creche will also be available for use for those with toddlers (under parental supervision).
4. CHRISTMAS - On Christmas day we have 2 services, 8am and 9:30am, WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU THERE!

Kid's ministry will then be back on the 2nd of February 2025!

EXCITING CHILDREN'S MINISTRY UPDATE -

I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! The way we do children's ministry is changing this weekend (the 20th October).

Here's the highlights from the video below:
- Creche will still be in the front right hand room of the auditorium, check your child in upon entry at the end of worship as per usual.
- Slam Jam and Slam Plus (all children ages 4-12 or kindy-Grade 6) - we have been given special access to the new building - and we will now be in our new kids space this Sunday! Children's ministry will continue to be held for the duration of the service. BEFORE the service starts, please come to the church foyer and CHECK IN your children. You can then COLLECT them from the new Next Gen hall at the END of the service. During this time we will do some announcements, play some games, do worship, complete our teaching segments and small groups including age-relevant discussions and activity sheets/crafts.

Please arrive a little earlier this Sunday to help with all the changes.

Thank you all for your flexibility and understanding as we try to find the best and safest way to keep delivering our children's ministry amidst the building developments. 😊

Hey Slam Family!

Exciting news! If your child is in Year 6 this year then this update is for you! The year 6s have ben invited to join in the fun at two of the nights this term at XY Youth. This is a great chance to get a taste before next year when they are in high school!

The two nights are:
1.11.24 - SEQ Fundraiser Night - This night is a massive fundraiser with all the Wesleyan youth groups from the area. The fundraiser is supporting youth groups in the Solomon Islands to get to their youth conference. There is a $15 entry fee and there will be archery tag and plenty of other activities on the night!

22.11.24 - Split Night - On split night the year 11s and 12s go an adventure while the year 6-10s get to be the big kids for a night!

Both nights will be held at Axis Church from 7pm-9pm. There will be a treat store open too if you would like to purchase snacks on either night. We can't wait to see you there!

IMPORTANT CHILDREN'S MINISTRY UPDATE -
I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! The way we do children's ministry is changing this weekend (the 25th August). There are changes for most groups so please take the time to quickly watch the video below explaining everything!

Here's the highlights:
- Creche will still be in the front right hand room of the auditorium, check your child in upon entry at the end of worship as per usual.

- Slam Jam and Slam Plus (all children ages 4-12 or kindy-Grade 6) will now be held at the Woodside community centre located diagonally opposite the church building. Children's ministry will now be held for the duration of the service to ensure the safety of the children and volunteers. BEFORE the service starts, please come to the community centre and CHECK IN your children. You can then COLLECT them from the centre at the END of the service. During this time we will do some announcements, play some games, do worship, complete our teaching segments and small groups including age-relevant discussions and activity sheets/crafts.

Please arrive a little earlier this Sunday to help with all the changes. The Axis AGM is just after the service this week, so if you could collect your children as quickly as possible that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Slam Family!
Just a reminder that as the start of the Axis Building Project is just around the corner, which will bring with it an exciting new space for our kid's ministry to use, which will open new opportunities for growth and development. We are soooo excited! But in the meantime our current kid's ministry space will be off limits.
Therefore please note the following for the duration of the building project:

1. Our SLAM Kid's Ministry Programs on a Sunday morning will be run in the main foyer (near the cafe) for pre-school - Grade 4 children. Our creche will still be located in the front room of the auditorium, and slam plus (grades 5 and 6) will still be in the office past the kitchen.

2. There will be no formal SLAM Kid's Ministry Program on Sunday nights, however activity packs will be available.

So, this Sunday (the 14th April) these changes will take effect. There will be changes to check in and pick up over the next few weeks so keep an eye on your communications.
