Tomorrow afternoon! Two of SA's finest choirs, InU and MiniM, join together at Brougham Place Uniting Church for The Heart of Song, a Spring concert celebrating the joy of music.

Sunday 25 October, 2.30pm. Tickets are $25 ($10 children, under 10s free), with proceeds supporting Brougham Place and our ministries. If you haven't got a ticket yet, now's the time.

It was a perfect morning for the Blessing of the Animals on Sunday. Lots of dogs and a bearded dragon came along, plus many pets were blessed through photos! Dr Deidre Palmer shared an excellent message and we heard what motivates Mat Monti as they advocate for the Adelaide Parklands. And wow, can he sing! If you missed it, the service is available to view through YouTube.

Needles and hooks at the ready! 🧶 For the fourth year we’re inviting everyone to help “yarn bomb” North Adelaide with Christmas hope, and this year there’ll be stars as well as angels. Knit or crochet an angel (free patterns at bpuc.org/knitted_angels), or make a star of your own design, as long as it’s made from yarn. Each one carries a tag with a word of hope and is left around the neighbourhood for someone to find. Join in!

Today marks the beginning of COP17, the United Nations bi-annual talks focused on addressing biodiversity, being held in Yerevan, Armenia.

This gathering follows the UN’s Conference of Parties (also COP17) to combat desertification in August earlier this year, which focused on the theme ‘Restoring Land. Restoring Hope.’

The issues being addressed through these COP17 gatherings are deeply connected to the upcoming COP31 climate talks starting 9 - 20 November. Our prayers are with delegates and global leaders gathering at these talks - for wisdom, courage, and cooperation to commit to necessary action to protect and care for God’s beautiful creation, ensuring the environment and generations to come flourish.

Brougham Place Uniting Church (former North Adelaide Congregational Church), 196-210 Brougham Place, North Adelaide, was confirmed as a State Heritage Place in 1985.

The church was opened on 22 February 1861 but it would continue to be constructed until the tower was completed in July 1872. The church was to be designed with Italian architectural styling. The window openings have a strong Venentian influence and it has several features that have been described as evocative of Baroque designs as well.
