90th birthday celebrated at our St David’s lunch today. Happy birthday Jill. A great time had by all!!

This morning we gather for Good Friday at 9am, a quiet and reflective service as we stand at the foot of the cross.

This year’s service will be simple and contemplative, shaped by four voices from the story—Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman, Lazarus, and Mary—helping us enter the weight, confusion, and depth of this day. There will be space for silence, music, and reflection as we sit with the reality of the cross without rushing ahead to Easter.

On the mountain, Jesus glows.

Not stage light.
Not performance.
But unveiled truth.

Hebrews says we are “surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses.”
Not ghosts. Not myths.
Witnesses.

If you’ve ever watched Star Wars, you know the moment — the old masters standing luminous, not fighting the battle for the next generation, but encouraging them forward.

That’s the image.

We rise like waves — carried by something deeper than ourselves. We fall, we return — but the ocean remains.

Peter says, “We were eyewitnesses of his majesty.”
The light is real.
So the call is real.
