In some Muslim cultures, people arrange a separate Udhiyah/Qurban during Eid al-Adha and say it is "on behalf of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ." Is this practice valid? What did scholars say about it, and what is the status of the hadith attributed to Sayyiduna 'Ali (raḍiya-llāhu ʿanhu) in this matter?
