💙🌿 **Celebrating Our Holy Spirit Parish Volunteers** 🌿💙

As we mark *National Volunteer Week* (18–24 May) 🇦🇺✨, we pause with gratitude to acknowledge the many people who so generously give their time, talents, and hearts to the life of Holy Spirit Parish, New Farm 💒

Our parish is strengthened each day by the quiet generosity of volunteers - those who step forward to help, to welcome, to prepare, to support, to organise, to care, and simply to be present for others.

Much of what happens within parish life would not be possible without your kindness, dedication, and faithful service. Whether your contribution is large or small, visible or behind the scenes, it is deeply valued and sincerely appreciated 🌟

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme, *“Your Year to Volunteer”* 🙏, reminds us of the difference volunteering makes - creating connection, community, compassion, and belonging for so many people.

To all who serve our parish community in countless and varied ways: thank you. Your generosity helps make Holy Spirit Parish a welcoming and vibrant place of faith, hope, and love 💛

With heartfelt gratitude and appreciation always 💐✨

🌸 Blessing for Mother’s Day 🌸

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we give thanks for the parents, carers, grandparents, guardians, mentors, and nurturing figures who enrich our lives with love, strength, guidance, and compassion.

This beautiful blessing invites us to reflect on the many people who support, encourage, and care for others each and every day. It is also a time to hold close in our thoughts those who may find this season difficult, while celebrating the many forms that love, care, and family can take.

May this Mother’s Day be filled with gratitude, kindness, connection, and peace for all. 💐

On **26 April 2026**, the Church will observe the **World Day of Prayer for Vocations**, celebrated each year on **Good Shepherd Sunday**.

Today marks the first anniversary of the passing of Pope Francis. He has left an extraordinary legacy for us. He was joyful, approachable, committed to simplicity, and passionate about God's mercy and love for all people, especially those who are on the peripheries. In world affairs, his clear and prophetic leadership on care for the earth, listening to the cry of the poor, and building solidarity was enormously valuable. Within the Church, he led us to focus on the Gospel, and to develop synodal ways of ensuring that all the baptised can participate and contribute to the Church's mission. As Pope Leo helps us to build on Pope Francis' leadership, we will deepen our appreciation for his wonderful contribution.
