Chosen 2026 is a national Catholic conference happening on 19–22 November 2026 at La Trobe University, Bundoora, bringing together young people from across Australia for four days of faith, prayer, community, and encounter. Open to teens (16+), young adults (18–35), and young couples (married up to 5 years),

Chosen offers opportunities to experience Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, inspiring speakers, workshops, worship, and genuine connection with other young Catholics. Hosted by Jesus Youth Australia, the conference invites young people to encounter God in a real and personal way.

Last Sunday we farewelled Fr Jophin at his final Mass with us , followed by a warming lunch together. We wish him the very best for his new appointment as Parish Priest of Wodonga and thank Fr Jophin for his time here at St Mary’s Parish, Nathalia.

The Diocese of Sandhurst congratulates Bishop René Ramirez RCJ, who Pope Leo XIV has appointed the Ninth Bishop of Sandhurst.

We are thrilled to welcome Bishop René back to our Diocese. He was Parish Priest of Shepparton South and Nagambie, and later, supervising priest at Rushworth, before he was ordained an Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne in February 2025.

Bishop Ramirez, who hails from Gapan, Philippines, has been a priest since June 1998.
He will succeed Shane Mackinlay, who was made Archbishop of Brisbane in September 2025.

This evening, Diocesan Administrator, Very Rev. Dr Brian Boyle (Fr Brian Boyle) notified the People of God in the Diocese of Sandhurst of the "joyous news".
