Eid al-Fitr Mubarak

"Taqabbal Allaahu minna wa minkum" (May Allaah accept [this worship] from us and from you).

May the mercy and blessings of Allah be with you, your family and your friends during this special time.

Let’s complete the fasting of Ramadan with an understanding as Eid approaches that some of us might celebrate Eid al-Fitr on different days, there is no right and wrong, just a difference of opinion.

Eid is a purely religious occasion, since it is granted by Allah through the revelation and when Allah grants something, he grants it complete and perfect. Thus, He granted us Eid and instructions as to how to celebrate or prepare for it.

* It is recommended to take a bath on the morning of Eid, Ghusl.
* Adorn and beautify Oneself, wear your best clothing.
* Eat some dates on the morning before the Eid prayer. Leave the feast for later in the morning.
* Proceed to the place of prayer. The Sunnah is to hold the Eid prayer in the open if weather permits.
* Go early, it is preferred that the people leave for the place of prayer after praying the dawn prayer (Fajr), so that they can take their places and make Takbeer.
* Make Takbeer, this is a distinctive feature of Muslim Eid celebration. It starts from the time one leaves their house heading towards the place of prayer continuing until the start of Eid prayer.
* Go to and return from the Eid prayer on different routes.
* Upon the completion of Eid prayer greet your brothers and sisters by saying “Taqabbala Allahu minna wa minkum'” (May Allah accept it from you and us).

May it be a wonderful Eid for the entire Ummah and lets not forget to include our brothers and sisters all over the globe who are experiencing hardships, make Allah ease their burdens and end their suffering, AMEEN
