In this week's reading from Mark 2:23-3:6 Jesus has a run in with some religious know it alls, who are condemning him for breaking the Sabbath....they seemed more focussed on the rules than the life God wants to give....
and Jesus' reaction is “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.", and then heals a man.
Now through the Sabbath, God gives us blessings....what do you think these blessings are?
Have you ever made the Sabbath (or any other gift God gives you) a burden and missed its real purpose?
What might it look like if we lived like Jesus on the Sabbath?

God is focused on love and giving life (check out John 3:1-17)
Who in your life needs to hear this message that God's focus for them is love and life?
How does this message from Jesus differ from how many portray God?
Is what you say and do revealling God's loving and life giving nature?

Jesus promises us the Advocate - God's Holy Spirit who will guide us in all truth - truth about sin, righteousness and judgement (see John 16:8-11)!!
How are we encouraging others to listen to God's Holy Spirit?
How is God's Holy Spirit connecting us to Jesus and God's mission, and how are we helping others to see how God's Holy Spirit connects them to Jesus?

When Jesus appears to be missing....consider the following:
What is He up to?
Has he really disappeared?
Do we just have the wrong picture of Jesus so we are missing Him even though He is right under our noses?
Will we be like the first disciples....joyful praising God after He has ascended and when we do what is happening? (see Luke 24:50-53)
