“How was school?”
“Fine.”

Does this sound familiar? 😊

Sometimes all it takes is a better question to open the door to deeper connection.

As a proud partner of The Resilience Project, we intentionally build Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy into daily life at Living Faith. One simple way families can support this at home is through meaningful after-school conversations.

These question prompts are designed to move beyond one-word answers and help children reflect, regulate and recognise the good around them.

Let us know if you try any of them this week or if you have any of your own questions you ask your children after school!

Sunday 7th June – Holy Communion: The Meal That Makes Us One
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:16–17; John 6:51; Luke 22:19–20 “It’s a family meal… we are being built up as the body of Christ.” Communion isn’t just remembrance – it’s participation. When you receive the bread and wine, you are fed by Jesus, forgiven by Jesus, united to Jesus, and united to his people. The table is where strangers become siblings, where sinners become saints, where the broken are made whole. It’s the family meal of the Kingdom. What does communion mean to you personally? How does it shape the way you see your church family? What healing might God want to bring through this meal? Spiritual Practice: Before your next communion, pray for the people who will stand with you. Ask God to strengthen your unity and deepen your love. Prayer: Jesus, thank you for feeding me with your Body and Blood. Build us into a people of unity and love. Amen.

Saturday 6th June 2026: God With You in the Unfinished Places
Scripture: Psalm 46; Isaiah 43:1–3; Matthew 28:20 “God’s presence isn’t conditional on our efforts.” God doesn’t wait for you to fix your relationships before he draws near. He isn’t watching from a distance, waiting for you to “get your act together.” He’s Emmanuel - God with us. With you in the tension. With you in the silence. With you in the confusion. With you in the grief. His presence isn’t the reward for reconciliation – it’s the power that makes reconciliation possible. Where do you feel overwhelmed or powerless? How might God already be working there? What would it look like to trust his presence today? Spiritual Practice: Breathe in: “God is with me.” Breathe out: “I will not fear.” Repeat slowly for two minutes. Prayer: God of peace, steady my heart. Be present in every place where I feel weak or uncertain. Amen.
