💛 R U OK? Day 💛

Today is a reminder that a simple question can make a big difference.

You may notice a splash of yellow around our school today as our students and staff add a pop of colour to help remind us of the importance of checking in with those around us. 💛 A big thank you to everyone who has joined in!

At Living Faith, we encourage our students to look out for one another, notice when someone might not be themselves and, most importantly, make time to ask: “Are you OK?”

R U OK? is about more than asking the question - it’s about listening, showing empathy and letting people know they don’t have to face things alone.

Today, and every day, let’s take a moment to check in with the people around us. A conversation might be just what someone needs.

Thursday, September 10th 2026 - Guarding the Truth: When Community Becomes Clarity
Matthew 18:15-20 “Take one or two others along…” Not to escalate. Not to intimidate. But to protect the truth. When we’re hurt, our vision distorts. When we’ve hurt someone, our memory blurs. Truth becomes slippery. Jesus knows this. So he invites the community into the moment - not to take sides, but to hold the truth steady. This isn’t courtroom logic. It’s pastoral wisdom. It’s the recognition that truth is best discerned in shared light, not solitary shadow. The church family becomes a place where truth is guarded, not manipulated. Where clarity is sought, not assumed. Where wisdom is shared, not hoarded. Reflection: Who are the wise, gentle voices I trust to help me see clearly? Where do I need communal discernment? Practice: Reach out to one spiritually mature person today. Ask them to pray for clarity in a relationship or situation. Prayer: God of truth, surround me with voices that help me see what I can’t see alone. Amen.

Wednesday, September 9th 2026 - Preserving Dignity: The Quiet Work of Love
Matthew 18:15-20 “Go… just between the two of you.” Jesus insists that honesty must be paired with tenderness. Truth without love becomes cruelty. Love without truth becomes sentimentality. Jesus refuses both. He protects dignity. He forbids gossip. He forbids public shaming. He forbids turning someone’s failure into a spectacle. In a culture that thrives on exposure, Jesus teaches holy privacy. He reminds us that every person carries frailty, fear, and the longing to be treated gently and graciously. To preserve dignity is to imitate Jesus himself - the One who restores sinners quietly, who lifts the fallen without broadcasting their failure, who covers shame with compassion. Reflection: Have my words ever exposed someone unnecessarily? Where can I practice holy discretion this week? Practice: Choose one person you’ve spoken about rather than spoken to. Pray for their dignity. Commit to silence until you can speak with them directly. Prayer: Jesus, let my words be gentle enough to heal and strong enough to honour truth. Amen.

Tuesday, September 8th 2026 - Depth: The Courage to Name What Hurts
Matthew 18:15-20 Jesus says, “Go.” Not wait. Not stew. Not withdraw. Go. Love moves to the wound. Avoidance feels like peace, but it’s only the peace of distance, not the peace of Jesus. Pretending feels polite, but it’s only the politeness of fear, not the honesty of love. Depth is the willingness to speak truth without weaponizing it. Depth is the courage to hear truth without collapsing under it. Depth is the refusal to settle for shallow harmony when Jesus offers deep healing. This applies whether we’re the offended or the offender. The Gospel doesn’t privilege one role over the other. Both require humility. Both require courage. Both require grace. Reflection: What truth have I been afraid to name? What truth have I been afraid to hear? Practice: Write a short prayer naming the hurt - without justification, without accusation, without self-defence. Prayer: Spirit of truth, give me courage to speak honestly and humility to listen deeply. Amen.

Monday, September 7th 2026 - The Holy Weight of “We Need to Talk”
Those words land heavy because they expose something we’d rather keep hidden: a fracture, a wound, a misalignment in love. Jesus doesn’t imagine a conflict free church family. He imagines a redeemed one - a community where conflict becomes a doorway to grace rather than a hallway to resentment. Matthew 18:15-20 begins not with idealism but with realism. Jesus assumes we’ll hurt each other. He assumes misunderstanding will arise. He assumes brokenness will surface. But he also assumes something else: His Spirit will be present in the very moment we fear the most. “Where two or three are gathered… I am there.” Even in conflict. Even in tension. Even in the trembling moment when truth must be spoken. He is there! Reflection: Where do I sense Jesus inviting me to face what I’ve avoided? What would change if I believed he was already present in that conversation? Practice: Sit in silence for two minutes. Imagine Jesus standing with you in the place of tension. Let his presence soften fear. Prayer: Lord Jesus, meet me in the hard places and make them holy. Amen.

An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate Specialist HPE Teacher to join Living Faith as we begin our journey into secondary education in 2027.

This is more than a teaching position - it’s an opportunity to help build an exceptional HPE and Sports program, inspire a lifelong love of physical activity and wellbeing, and play a key role in shaping the culture and traditions of our emerging secondary school.

Working across Years 4–7, the successful applicant will contribute to weekly HPE lessons, the Living Faith Sports Academy and school sporting competitions, while helping our inaugural Year 7 students grow in confidence, teamwork, resilience and personal growth.

Sunday, September 6th 2026 - Shine Until Others See Jesus
Matthew 5:16 “…that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” The Parr family discovers that hiding their gifts helps no one. Shining them saves lives. Jesus says the same to his disciples: You are the light of the world. Not because you’re extraordinary. But because he’s extraordinary in you. Your light isn’t self-generated. It’s Jesus-generated. So, this week - in your home, workplace, class, neighbourhood - let your light shine. Naturally. Joyfully. Courageously. Consistently. Until others see your good works… and recognise the Father who placed his light within you. Prayer: Jesus, shine through me in ways that help others see you clearly. Practice: Ask God for one opportunity today to shine his light. Then step into it with courage.
