The good news continues from Romans 5:12-21. Adam’s sin brought condemnation… judgement, shame, guilt, a heavy weight… an impossible burden. It brought death. From Romans 5:1-11 we see today that THEREFORE, since we have been justified by faith:
1. We have peace with God
2. We stand in grace
3. We boast in God
4. We suffer in hope
5. We revel in love
6. We’ll be rescued from wrath

In Romans 4, we see the principle that being right with God is entirely HIS doing…
1. Demonstrated: by Abraham (vv1-5)
2. Confirmed: by David (vv6-8)
3. Applies BEFORE works: not after (vv9-22)
4. Is anchored: in Jesus’ death and resurrection (vv23-25)

God’s righteousness
1. Is apart from the law
2. Is a gift of grace received by faith
3. Is for Jew AND Gentile
4. Is based entirely on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus; and
5. ….means there can be no boasting.
