God Removes What Doesn’t Belong in the Next Chapter.

One of the hardest parts of following God is learning that not everything is meant to come with us into the next season.

Sometimes we pray for new doors while holding tightly to things God is asking us to release.

A relationship.
A mindset.
A comfort zone.
A plan we thought would work out differently.

When God removes something, our first reaction is often grief, confusion, or disappointment. But what if His removal is actually protection? What if He’s making room for something that better aligns with His purpose for your life?

I’ve learned that every season requires different things. The people who were part of one chapter may not be part of the next. Opportunities change. Assignments change. Even we change as God grows us.

Not every ending is a loss.

Sometimes it’s God’s way of preparing us for where He’s taking us.

Trust the Author of your story. He sees the chapters you haven’t read yet.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” — Isaiah 43:18-19 🤍

If God is removing something, trust that He’s also preparing something.

Change

Don't we all want room to grow and change? I know that I hate feeling bound by expectations or limitations. I always want fresh vision, room for exploration, and a time for growth. I hate feeling STUCK. I'm not a huge risk-taker, but I do like change.

In the same way that I want room for change, I need to allow room for others to change--or even, for a church to change. God says He's changing us from glory to glory! As long as we're seeking God with all of our hearts and holding fast to the Word of God, I believe He delights in new things! HE"S always doing a new thing!! I shouldn't expect my church to do the same old programs year after year. I should move with the flow of new songs of praise to God. God is so creative; He can fill each new generation with new songs that He adores. I should give leaders the freedom to explore new ways, new programs, and new destinies for our church. I should grace members to collaborate and share their ideas and hopes.

Change is good. It may rock the boat at times, but a wise leader will steer the ship away from the boulders and into the open seas. God loves and endorses change. He knows it will breathe new life and growth into a body of believers. Dead things are the only things that don't grow and change.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence when God lets you meet people who carry the same heart.

The same passion to serve.
The same longing to honor Him.
The same hope that He is still writing beautiful stories.

Maybe God knows that some battles need encouragement.
Some dreams need community.
And some callings need faithful people walking side by side.

So treasure those relationships.

Because sometimes God’s provision doesn’t look like more resources.

Sometimes it looks like someone who reminds you that you were never walking alone. 🤍
