This time last year, we were right in the middle of the busyness of the Malua Conference (Fono i Malua). Amidst the many services, church meetings and responsibilities, we carried a quiet but determined secondary mission i.e. selling raffle tickets to fono participants from near and far.

The purpose was clear and deeply felt. To help fund a residential property or church building for the newly established EFKS church in Mount Isa.

Fast forward 12 months, and today EFKS Matagofie o le Atua i le Toafa (God's Beauty in the Desert) receives the keys to the new home of the church ministry (maota o le galuega) in Mount Isa.

It is only by God's grace and mercy that our small and humble church has reached this milestone. A goal that once felt distant, yet today stands before us as nothing short of a miracle.

Congratulations Rev. Tapenaga and your good lady Olita!🥳👏Congratulations EFKS Matagofie in Mount Isa!😍👍

And so we echo the words of the Psalmist: "Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to Your Name goes all the glory for Your unfailing love and faithfulness."

We also take this opportunity to thank our wonderful real estate brokers, Sam Hossain and Tanja Schlegel from Real Estate. Your professionalism, warmth and genuine enthusiasm made this journey so much easier. Sam, thank you for always rushing over to open the car door for us. You are a true gentleman!🤗Your efforts and great character have truly sold this for us. JAYS RE are very fortunate to have you both!

To our families, friends, church groups and every single person who kindly supported our raffle last year, whether by buying a ticket, selling a book, offering encouragement or lifting us in prayer, FAAFETAI TELE LAVA! Your generosity and belief in this vision helped turn a dream into a reality.

May God richly bless you all for the love you have sown into this ministry. From the desert, God has indeed brought forth beauty.

Soifua ma ia manuia.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

STANDING WITH NIGERIA TONIGHT!

Please join millions around the world this evening as we uplift Nigeria in prayer for this year’s World Day of Prayer.

Tonight, we come together in unity, across cultures, faith traditions, and nations, to pray for peace, healing, strength and hope for the people of Nigeria.

As we gather, we also hold in our hearts all countries currently facing conflict and hardship, praying for protection, restoration, and lasting peace in every place where communities are suffering.

Whether you join with your church, your family or take a quiet moment on your own, your prayer adds to a global chorus of compassion and solidarity.

May God’s blessings be upon you always.

This time last week, EFKS Mt Isa members were enjoying a different scenery from the relaxed and deserted roads of Mt Isa to the heavy and scary traffic in Brisbane. We were happily keen to endure the long drive to take part in the EFKS Brisbane celebrations.

Matagaluega EFKS QLD South has turned 10 years old!

We are grateful that we got to participate for the first time as a church in a Pulega, let alone Matagaluega, event. We thanked and praised God all the way to Brisbane in songs and prayer during the long 25 hour drive. God has been generous as always by providing the means and the necessary support that enabled this trip for EFKS Mt Isa. May His Holy Name be forever glorified for He truly cares and provides.

We acknowledge and thank our matua faaleagaga Rev Tapenaga Reupena and faletua Olita Reupena for the wonderful initiative. Malo le faama’ite i mea lelei mo le Alii. Faamanuia le Atua.

We thank also our designated drivers, Eugene Pouesi and Lei Seumanutafa, who have kindly offered to brave the seemingly never-ending drive to and from Brisbane. Thank you guys! Malo le faato'ato'a faafetai le mataala.

We also take this opportunity to give a special Faafetai tele lava, to our family and friends, particularly susuga i le A'oa'o nofoaiga Afasene and your beautiful faletua Fu'a, le susuga i le a'oa'o fesoasoani Tunumafono Oti and your lovely wife and our new bestie Faafofola, who have been so kind and generous with so much delicious food that the exhausted travellers happily devoured on arrival Thursday night. Also our very own Tamā and Tinā Tapenaga & Olita Reupena and family for the wonderful treat at lunch the next day. Thank you all so much for your generosity and hospitality. Alofagia e le Atua o manuia e tele Na te toe faatutumu lou tamaoaiga e tele ua faagaogaoina ona o lou agalelei! Faafetai faafetai lava.

And when we later joined the combined rehearsal in Brisbane, it felt like meeting with old friends once again, although we’d never met most of them before.

Thank you Tamā Taua’aga Matā’afa, lau susuga i le Toeaina Faatonu and beautiful faletua Tinā Senerita Matā’afa and the rest of our Pulega, for making the newcomers from ‘the bush’ feel very welcomed. We appreciate the kind gesture in making sure we are comfortable and not feeling out of place in our new surroundings. Faafetai tele le agalelei ma lou laufofoga fiafia i taimi uma. Faamanuia tele le Atua.

The 10th Anniversary celebration is by far the most enjoyable and unforgettable experience that EFKS Mt Isa has thoroughly enjoyed.
The performances by all groups were outstanding and entertaining. There was not a single dull moment. Congratulations everyone for the amazing performances!

We feel, however, our Falefa farewell song excelled. Our very talented composer and conductor, Tamā Matā’afa, in his gold satin lavalava complemented by a red t**i and sei fulumoa and further perfected by a colourful head piece, stole the whole show with his graceful movements in leading the choir. We’re so proud of you Tamā and the rest of our Falefa choir! Faamalō le fai o le faiva. Viia lava le Atua!

And like in any great and special moment, there have been countless photos to capture the once-in-a-lifetime experience with family and many more new friends at the celebrations. We are delighted to share with you a few of the snapshots we managed at the event. We apologise in advance if any of the photos offend in any way. Please know it was not intended at all.

Faamanuia tele le Atua i le atoaga o le 10 Tausaga o le Matagaluega Kuiniselani i Saute.

Faafetai ma ia Manuia.

Talofa lava. Malo le soifua to all our church members, family and friends.

We are pleased to announce that the Matagofie Newsletter is back. Thank you for your patience when it took a break for a while.

We ask also for your understanding when we lack consistency in like services as we slowly manoeuvre ourselves to establishing properly as a Samoan EFKS church in remote Mount Isa.

We thank you for your time and interest in our little EFKS Matagofie monthly travels. We also welcome your feedback please to improve this service in moving forward.

Faamanuia le Atua.
