“Joseph had a pilgrim nature. Jospeh was in Egypt for 93 years and Egypt had still not gotten into him.
You might think here - wherever you reside on this earth, can I really have a pilgrim nature?
If Jospeh could have it in Egypt, the most wealthy, sophisticated nation on earth - you can live it wherever God has you - a pilgrim nature.
Because we are just passing through.
Yet, here’s the poison - we are plagued with social media, television, bombarded with politics, war, injustices, prejudice and we can see a thousand things that are not right.
Ultimately - our destination is out of this wrongness. And onward to Heaven! Eternal shores! Eternal perspective!”
-Pastor Joe Focht, of Calvary Chapel Philadelphia
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.”
Hebrews 12:1-3
