St Marks Uniting Church

St Marks Uniting Church St Marks congregation is a boutique church who works hard at growing disciples, growing relationships and growing leaders in the name of Jesus. All welcome

St Marks Uniting Church is the best kept secret in Mt Gravatt. Our motto: "A family church, family-ing with the community," expresses our desire and willingness to offer what we have been given by God (a sense of belonging and community) to the wider community regardless of one's faith in Jesus. Our regular worship times on Sunday are:
9am - Family service, followed by morning tea
6pm - Cafe style

service, followed by dinner

At St Marks, you can expect an intimate setting, and may be ideal for those who value relationship with others, who are perhaps looking to reengage with God through church; for those who require a 'soft landing' from a larger church experience; or for those who are interested to learn more about who Jesus is and what it means to follow him. We are a mission-oriented church, looking to intentionally and especially engage the local community, through such yearly events as the Carols Event and Garage Sale & Fete's. Established in the early 1950's as a Presbyterian Church, St Marks has morphed over the years with the inclusion of other local churches, forming the current St Marks Uniting Church. In all our iterations, the one constancy is a high regard for youth and children's ministry, and an inclusive posture toward all people. At the beginning of 2014 we have identified 5 areas to give attention over the next 12-24 months, including:
Mentoring and training current and future leaders
Expanding and consolidating pastoral care
Connecting with families in the community
Improving internal and external communication
Developing a property plan

We're excited about our the future God has for us and partnering with God in his mission in our part of the world. If you're a guest to St Marks, we look forward to meeting and getting to know you, and hope you find a place with us where you can join in with God's mission in the way that God has gifted and called you.

We did it! $5000 raised for a BBQ that will be installed at a domestic violence refuge. Thank you Mt Gravatt and surrounds for making this dream a reality. This BBQ offers 4 to 5 families living in one house, the extra cooking facilities needed come dinner time. It also provides an opportunity for the residents to form community in a safe space. All praise to Lord Jesus for his strength and support. Pictured St Marks Treasurer Dave Allen, Uniting Care Community’s Stephen Francis and Rev Suzie Castle.
