Gedday Israel was to drive out all the inhabitants of their promised land. Yet when these people came to them desiring a covenant with them they were taken on face value and didnt consult God first and were tricked into accepting a lie. So must we also need to be careful of what we are told so we dont get caught out because our salvation could be at stake. Things might look or sound right but if there are no signs following then beware (Mark16v15-20). Always check, go back to the Bible, "to ask God". Josh9v3-15

Joshua 9:3-15 (KJV) And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai,
They did work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;
And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy.
And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us.
And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?
And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye?
And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the LORD thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,
And all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth.
Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us.
This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy:
And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.
And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.
And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

Gedday Dont ever delude ourselves thinking we can mock or deride God and there will be no consequences to us. Whatever we sow we will reap whether it is good or bad. So make an effort to keep doing right and at the appointed time we will reap our reward, eternal life. Gal6v7-10

Galatians 6:7-10 (KJV) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Gedday God was going to show Israel marvelous things which hadnt been seen and all people and nations would stand in awe of it. He made a covenant with Israel and wanted them to keep it and not make a league with the nations he had driven out before them. This is good advice for us today to remain separate from those who would promote a false gosel and we will also see marvelous things that will make us stand in awe Ex34v10-17

Exodus 34:10-17 (KJV) And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.
Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a wh***ng after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a wh***ng after their gods, and make thy sons go a wh***ng after their gods.
Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

Gedday This is why our testimonies are so important. We dont need to commend ourselves as our speech and actions will make it obvious of what God is doing in our lives. Who we are now is because God through the Holy Spirit has made it so, it is not of our own doing. This is why we are now qualified to be ministers of the gospel of salvation which brings new life through Christ. 2Cor3v1-6

2 Corinthians 3:1-6 (KJV) Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Gedday The question is why is your beloved better than anyone elses. The answer shows how intimately this person knows her beloved. All she sees is the good in him, the strength and beauty. This is my beloved and friend. So is Jesus, our husband to be, our beloved. Do we see the good things he does and is. Do we see his caring nature for us. Do we see him as the most important thing in our lives. Do we see him as being better than anyone elses beloved, the one who is our greatest friend? Song of Solomon 5v9-16

Song of Solomon 5:9-16 (KJV) What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.
His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.
His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

Gedday What a great thought. The Amplified Bible puts it this way "May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing [bubbling over] with hope." Rom15v13

Romans 15:13 (KJV) Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Gedday It can be easy to say i will do it tomorrow and keep deferring what we know should be done. Be careful because tomorrow never gets here, it is always today and today is the day of our salvation whereby we must be right with God. Dont get slack spiritually and become blase as we then may lose that which must remain important to us, our salvation. Prov24v30-34

Proverbs 24:30-34 (KJV) I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Gedday Never think we are just a number to God. Jesus is our Good Shepherd and knows us all by name. We are part of the other sheep that are being called into that one fold and are those whom Jesus has laid his life down for. Jesus gave his life, man didnt take it, knowing he would rise again as an example for all to see. This was Gods plan and Jesus fulfilled it all. John10v14-18

John 10:14-18 (KJV) I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Gedday This was Esthers chance to save life so she put her life on the line trusting God and in doing so saved her people living in Persia. God has called us to save spiritual life by speaking the gospel, to show what is going on in this world and to show them a way out. Ester5v1-8

Esther 5:1-8 (KJV) Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.
And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.
And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.
Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.
Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;
If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.

Gedday What would we give to have a relationship with God? Zacchaeus effectively gave away all his natural wealth. We dont need to do what Zacchaeus did for God is not looking at what we have done or how much we have, he wants to give an opportunity for salvation to those of a humble attitude and want to receive Jesus and the Holy Spirit into their life with joy. Luke19v1-10

Luke 19:1-10 (KJV) And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
